Double Sided Uga Between The Hedges Cake
Double sided "between the hedges" cake for birthdays on the 18th and 19th of January for two Georgia fans. My brother and his wife's birthday party. My brother loves UGA football and has a favorite jersey he wears ALL the time, plays softball, owns a security company. His wife loves black and white dots, purses, Louboutin shoes, anything girlie! Bottom tier orange-carrot cake with white chocolate ganache and top tier Maraschino cherry with toasted almond. Hedges are Rice Krispie Treats. I had some different details planned but ran out of time. If I had a "do-over" I'd hack about three inches off the bottom of those giant shrubs! lol. They're actually nearly shoulder high in real life so I was trying to make them sorta ostentatious. Looks like that worked- they're certainly eye catching in a huge green bunny ears sorta way! ;-) LOL. This cake was inspired by a wedding cake done by Casey Geiman of Casey's Cakes, C&C Cake Company in black and white- thanks for letting me attempt a pitiful copy Casey! This cake was an exercise and practice on gumpaste flowers and my first shot at making a pearl necklace as well as shoes and SO many other first uses of tools I've had forever and been meaning to use. I used my Cricut cake as well as patchwork cutters, gumpaste extruder, silicone pearl maker and tons of luster and petal dusts. Black and red fondants are Duff's. White and green are MMF. Thank goodness it didnt have to travel far because it started leaning before I walked outside with it!

75Th Birthday Cake In Red And White
My grandmother's 75th birthday cake. I had no idea what this cake design was going to be, even up until I was finishing the details on it- it was very last minute. Large bottom layer vanilla sugar cookie cake with caramel cream filling. Middle red velvet with white chocolate ganache, top strawberry with mom's homemade strawberry fig preserves. All icing is cream cheese buttercream. Silver dragees in the diamond quilting. Roses and leaves are gumpaste and my first attempt at flowers (Yay!), bows are fondant, beaded brooches are edible. Topper formed from RKT then arranged flowers. I used my Cricut cake for initials and the Cricut icing sheets in red with red edible luster dust. Base for cake was a mirror with a barrier between it and cake and crystals were made from bent wires and a bracelet I bought at the craft store and cut up.

Tree Stump Cake With Mounted Deer Horns
Tree stump cake with mounted deer horns for Aubreys 19th. I used tons of designs from here as inspirations- thank you everyone! Key Lime cake with key lime cream cheese icing covered in fondant and edible gumpaste decorations. The horns were a half-scaled replica of the deer my DH killed this season. I was thankful he got one I could use as an example! lol. He was out of town so I didn't have him handle to consult with on hunting stuff but I made it through. I used all kinds of stuff including oreos, tootsie rolls, sugar rocks from Earlene Moore's recipe. I even wanted it to have the red mud and poison ivy that Georgia cursed with. Sure, the horns are sitting a little wonky and its kinda over-busy but it appears that's my style. :) lol. MMF, Duff's fondant and Nick Lodge Tylose paste all used. RKT mount for the horns. Wheat spaghetti noodles for cattails.

Polka Dot And Zebra Birthday Cake
They asked for hot pink and green with tons of glitz as well as dots and zebra, and her initials- and this is what I came up with. I was dying for a chance to use my new sugarveil stuff so I tried it on the ribbons. Turned out so-so for a practice run but I couldn't be more pleased with how the cake turned out last minute. Lime base cake with lime cream cheese and strawberry top layer. The top was suspended on a divider with the fondant dots overhanging. Divider and base were 2" styrofoam covered with dotted fabric mod-podge'd then trimmed with sugarveil ribbons. I used rice or wafer paper to line the big bow which turned out to be a mistake since you can see it inside the bow but humidity here in Georgia was working against me that day! Learned a LOT with this cake. Dragees on the initials and I used funky tappits for small lettering as well as edible pink glitter. Black fondant is satin ice and Duff's fondants, pink and green flowers are Nicholas Lodge Tylose paste, white is MMF. Topper for flowers started as RKT ball then added flowers and black feather boa. My niece is the birthday girl's friend and she made and decorated the small boots using patchwork cutters as a surprise :)

Look Whoo's One First Birthday Cake
They wanted a removable owl smash cake and she provided me with a similar photo from the web as a guide so credits to anyone on here if this is similar to your original design. Vanilla bean cake with vanilla bean icing, MMF covered. Satin Ice and Duff's fondant all used at some point for the decorating and covering. I used my Cricut cake and also funky tappits for the lettering.

Glamour Girl Cake
This was my first attempt at a layered fondant cake. Turned out pretty terrible- I used my niece's 4th birthday for practice. :) Top layer was aqua and bottom layer was blue. All decorations were fondant or gumpaste and covered in edible glitter. The designs were taken from her party plates and decorations- "Glamour Girl" - which I think they still sell at Party City after all these years.

Georgia Party Cake
Spur of the moment cake for my niece's party that evening. This cake got me back into decorating after a 10 year hiatus. Had no warning and no tools -had to run out and buy icing tips again but it made me realize how much I loved doing this and I was determined to do better next time. lol

John Deere- Catfish Cake
This cake was for my dad's 53rd party. The idea behind it is a catfish so big that it takes a tractor to pull it in! Little black Scottie dog sitting on the tractor. My dad can usually be found working as a fishing guide or pushing dirt somewhere on his tractor. Flavor for the top was a recipe I modified of Magnolia Bakery's Vanilla cake with strawberry cheesecake filling. Bottom layer is black walnut with black walnut icing. Cake covered and decorated in MMF -except brown is Duff Goldman chocolate fondant. Tractor and fish were both RKT covered in MMF. Black on tractor is Duff Goldman fondant and gumpaste. Fish painted with petal and luster dusts. Chain is a necklace I purchased. Signs 50/50. Rocks are made out of hardened boiled sugar and royal icing mixture and dirt is chocolate cereal. Cattails made out of spaghetti noodles and Duff Chocolate fondant.

Sweet Sixteen Birthday Cake
Another cake for my nieces. She asked specifically for three tiers- bottom striped, middle with her monogrammed initials and top in dots and gave me party plates and color swatches so it couldn't have been much easier to design. I made this for her 9/11/10 birthday and fittingly, it started toppling over. I ran out of time far before I was done and didn't get to fully execute the design or dowel it correctly. This was my first three tier attempt and was a learning experience. I made it to the party with it intact but it didn't look too great! Three tier cake- bottom tier: chocolate fudge with chocolate buttercream icing and oreo cookies and cream filling. Middle: Key Lime with cream cheese. Top: Pink Strawberry filled with fresh strawberries and strawberry buttercream icing.

Eeyore Soccer Cake
Eeyore and Soccer were my niece's birthday themes (she couldn't decide). lol Pumpkin Chocolate Chip cake (flavor they make on "Ace of Cakes" TV show) for the bottom 15" cake and Pink Velvet cake for the 3-D Eeyore. Covered and decorated in MMF. Plastic crown. Numbers made of white chocolate and fondant and the butterflies painted on wafer paper.

Pink And Green Dots And Bow Cake
This was a spur of the moment cake done overnight for my mom's birthday party the next morning and there was more wrong than right with this one. Sadly the only photo I got had the bow still drying with plastic wrap on it. Top layer strawberry cake with strawberry filling and bottom is Key Lime with lime cream cheese frosting. Covered and decorated in MMF and real flowers.

Twilight Cake
The cake was inspired by the covers of the four Twilight Saga books for my niece who had a Twilight themed birthday party. Covered and decorated in MMF with gumpaste flower and leaves. Bracelet is part of the story line - except this one is a Pandora and was my present to the birthday girl.
