Jack Skellington - Nightmare Cake
Made this for my son's class for Halloween - cake is pumpkin spice WASC (recipe on this site), filled and crumb coated with cream cheese BC, covered in mmf. Facial features were cut out of the white mmf and replaced with chocolate mmf cutouts of the same size/shape - if I do something like this again I'll do two layers of fondant and just cut out the top layer, as the fondant slid a little and distorted the cutouts. I'm okay with it for now, though...and I knew a classroom full of 5th graders wouldn't care!

Minnie Mouse Birthday!
This was for my daughter's 2nd birthday - she loves "Mimmie!" Cake is red and white "polka dots" inside AND out! Two tiers of cake: the bottom tier is 10", red velvet with cream cheese filling, covered with ganache then mmf. Top tier is 8", white WASC with red "dots" (red sprinkles in the batter), with raspberry filling, covered with ganache then mmf. Hat is black candy melts - I used the sports ball pan to mold the hat then cut circles for ears out of more candy melts, cut a little off those circles then used melted candy to attach them to the hat. It looked great and was the first thing to get eaten! My father went a little crazy "cake-scaping"...hence all the decor in the photos. Cake was inspired by many designs in the galleries and forum posts.

Ben 10 Birthday Cake
Made this for a friend's son - Ben - for his 10th birthday! How perfect is that? Cake is chocolate, crumb coat in BC, covered in MMF made with candy melts. Logo is MMF, "BEN" ombre effect painted with watered down Wilton color, splats (both green and the black in the '0') are piping gel. Major inspiration from sweet_as_tisse's Ben 10 - I loved that cake!

Baby Snoopy Shower Cake
I did this cake for a friend's baby shower - it's red velvet filled and iced with cream cheese. I was still working out the consistency for the CC frosting, so it was a bit thick and I definitely had some crumbs, but I like the overall look of the cake. Snoopy's are chocolate transfers, stars are MMF. Topper is made of large chocolate transfers and molded star lollipops.

Superhero Skyscraper - Kind Of
This was for my son's birthday - it was my first attempt at oh so many things. Mainly because of this (and my awful time management), a LOT of things went wrong with this cake. I didn?t post it because it did not come out the way I wanted, but I?ve had a couple of requests and I?m proud of the idea behind it, so here goes. The top two tiers are chocolate filled with ganache, the bottom two are creme brulee cake with BC and caramel filling. The superheros and comic sounds are chocolate transfers. It was supposed to be covered in fondant (two layers w/ cutout windows), but my grey MMF was purple and totally the wrong consistency, so I had to do a last minute BC and didn't make enough so it's awfully crumby. My chocolate transfers fell apart because I didn't follow the directions fully, and it was my first time stacking more than two tiers so it wasn't quite stable and got a bit wonky. I've gotten better since then - go see my other photos, really! The transfers originally were Batman, Spiderman, Ironman, the Hulk, Superman, Wolverine, and Thor. My son loved it and so did everyone at the party - they even liked how it was leaning because they thought it looked like it was right out of a comic book. I also included a pic of the cake board - since that came out just the way I wanted!

Sonic The Hedgehog Eating Popcorn
My son had a movie party for his birthday but wanted a Sonic cake - so I made him his own tub of marshmallow popcorn to tie Sonic into the "movie" theme. Cake is funfetti WASC, an 8" round and a 10" square for the spikes Covered in MMF - all facial features are MMF as well. Popcorn is made from mini marshmallows, tub is a colored candy/nut cup. Partially inspired by Sonic cakes from Emily812 and kiddocakes. Thanks for looking!

Ds 8Th Birthday Spongebob
I love this cake - funfetti inside with canned (I know!) frosting. This was before I found CC, and discovered the joys of a good BC. Anyway, past the frosting...arms and legs are pretzel rods covered in white chocolate, hands and feet are yodels or ho-ho's or one of those roundish chocolate creme filled snack cakes, hands covered with frosting.

Blue And Gold
Cake made for DS's Blue & Gold Dinner. My first fondant cake! Inside is yellow cake with blueberry filling (also blue & gold!), crumb coated with BC and covered in MMF. Patches are all chocolate transfers (first time for those as well), beads and laces are MMF. Yellow fondant was NOT cooperating, so I had to use part of the plastic tablecloth that I used to cover the cake board to make the neckerchief...but the slide is MMF. Cake design modeled after one I found online.
