Lexi's Cake
This cake was for a very special birthday girl...She just decided what colors she wanted and let me (and the "Cake Gods") decided what would happen with the cake. She had just gotten a kitten, "Arizona", which you see on the cake. I used the FBCT technique and then went over it with regular piping techniques to give it some depth.. The cake is buttercream with fondant accents that have been stamped with different floral patterns. The flowers on the cake are silk due to lack of time (and lack of a gerbera daisy cutter) The cake inside is Chocolate Stout Cake with White Velvet cake alternating layers that are filled with white chocolate cream cheese butter cream and whipped semi sweet chocolate ganache. MMMM.... Yummy!! I did have some issues with my butter cream cracking though. Can'f figure out why , but no one really noticed but me, of course!

Moriah's Cake
Cake inspired by a cake on CC, sorry don't remember who the designer is. please don't take offense. The birthday girl picked it out and wanted a TON of things changed on it, color palette, etc. So, I took the original cake and made it into something special for her. She turned 14. The numbers are RI piped to make it look like tiny bars of gold and filled with tiny pave' set diamonds. Then I added megaphones, and pompoms on each side. I changed the assymetrical flower on top to just a few hand rolled flowers, The fondant stingray is the mascot for her travelling competition cheer squad, the Stingrays... The cake is White Velvet cake that was colored to be rainbow (can you say "time consuming!!) Then it was carved and torted, filled with whipped white chocolate ganache. for extra awesome flavor, then crumb coated with white chocolate, cream cheese, butter cream icing. Finally I colored Fondarific and covered the cake in that. I had hear how "easy" it is to work with. But, I didn't find that at all!! It kept ripping and falling apart. It was just NOT the fondant to use in hot weather!! Any suggestions on a better workable fondant would be greatly appreciated!! TFL!!

Spongebob Disaster!!
I made this cake for my son who was turning 9. I wasn't going to be able to be at his "real" party that my ex was throwing for him, so I decided that we would make his cake together. I waited too long to start, not taking into account how long the buttercream would take to set before I could put the fondant on. I also didn't take the 98 degree heat into account. Or the fact that it was 80 degrees inside!! Anyway, buttercream was not dry enough to put fondant on, but I was running out of time so I had to do it anyway. Meanwhile my MMF was melting. This cake was HUGE (22x18x4) and I didn't have enough counter space to properly roll out my fondant. Anyway, everything was an issue. Everything. The fondant was pulling and melting and tearing all at the same time, but I had to get it finished because his dad was HERE and he had to go. So, here he is...A melted Sponge Bob made with LOVE!! (BTW...cake was red velvet with whipped white chocolate ganache filling and the lower right side was WASC with the same filling)
