Spongebob Cake
Gah, I'm such a copy cat! I was given a picture of this cake and asked to make it for a little boy's 2nd birthday. The original cake was created by Antonella Di Maria. Although I did my best and I'm satisfied with the results, the original is far superior to my version. Very humbling I must say. The cakes are white with whipped white chocolate ganache and carrot cake with whipped white chocolate ganache. The pineapple and crabby pattie burger are chocolate cake with whipped chocolate ganache. All of the figures are made from mmf.

My Gift To The Happy Couple
My first wedding cake! A gift to my niece and her new husband :-) Not exactly the outcome I hoped for but not a complete disaster either. somewhere in between ;-) I used Jennifer Dontz' DVD tutorial for the roses. The bottom is the scratch white almond sour cream cake recipe I found on this site with lemon curd and lemon buttercream filling. Next tier is the good ole Hershey chocolate with chocolate ganach and caramel filling. Next one is Coconut filled with coconut icing, recipe from the King Arthur website (awsome recipe). And finally the top two tiers are Carrot with cream cheese filling, recipe found on the Joy of baking website. All tiers except the chocolate tier were covered in white chocolate ganache, then fondant over all. Since this was my niece's wedding, I was able to be there to see how everthing tasted. Happy to say, all the flavors were a big hit! What a relief, I can breathe now.

Teddy & Tractor
My nephew asked me to make his Groom's cake. He wanted a teddy bear (his nickname) driving a tractor (a copy of his own) and a pheasant (he hunts). I live in a dry climate where I baked and prepared everything ahead, then assembled and decorated the cake in a very humid, hot climate, so had a few issues with that. But I had fun and I was glad he asked me to do it for him.
