Matching Heartshaped Allergen Free Cakes
For a little girl who only had one birthday wish: to be able to eat cake! Because of severe allergies, she wasn't able to have any cake before. This cake was one of the most grateful ones ever to make. Free of dairy protein, lactose, soy, eggs, peanuts, tree nuts, and much more! Fondant is home made marshmallow fondant. The fun part is, everyone loved the cake and couldn't believe what was not in there! I am just thrilled to have made this little girl so happy. TFL

The Godfather Birthday Cake
For a young man who just loves the Godfather movies. He wanted just the Godfather logo and the name 'Don Michael Corleone' on the cake. As this is more simple than the cakes I normally made, I love the way it worked out so 'clean' and makes it look beautiful by simplicity. The cake by the way was triple chocolate, covered in ganache of white chocolate than covered in marzipan (as was requested). TFL!

Taking A Bubble Bath
This was for a lady who had her own salon but was retiring. She was thrilled about the fact she was now going to have plenty of time enjoying her favorite things like taking bubble baths and enjoying a nice glass of wine and cigarette. (The cigarettes in the package were actually chocolate ones.) Her former co worker asked me to use all these details in her 'good bye' cake. TFL!

4 Tier Round Wedding Cake With Roses
It took some time for the bride to decide what cake she wanted, but as she had her hearts set on a very classical and delicately decorated wedding cake, she decided to go for an all white cake with roses. The cake was for about 50 persons, not including the top layer as this was to be frosen in and preserved for their first anniversary. Allthough the bride really didn't want any other decorations other than the lilac and pink roses with green leaves (her choice) I did end up making a pearl border at the bottoms of the cakes and little roll roses in the middle part, just to hide the edges and center pilar. I wasn't too fond of the cake stand my self, but it was their specific choice. Personally, I would have kept the roses and leaves white aswell with this all white cake, but the couple was so thrilled on the outcome. Already the day after their wedding, they send me an e-mail telling me the cake was beyond their wildest dreams. What a thrill to make someones special day so complete by presenting them the best cake. It made my day! Especcially since this was the very first wedding cake I ever delivered and built on location. All fondant! Vanilla Sky (own recipe) with Perfect Plum filling (own recipe) and white chocolate ganache filling. Thanks so much for looking!

Whenever I ran into her she asked me if her birthday was definitaly going to be pink. I joked and asked her if she was sure has her mom ordered a green cake with yellow dots. After I kept changing the colours, she understood it was a joke and we had lot's of fun. Her mom told me she was super excited when it turned out to be an all pink Hello Kitty cake. She loved it! Horses For Grandma & Grandson
This cake was a good example of cake horror turning into cake succes. Actually the cake that was initially ordered, was quite different from this one. It should be all green with a forest and nature details. However, the fondant that was delivered, contained a manufacturing flaw and could not be used to decorate the cake. Not a lot of fun if you find that out in the middle of (Friday) night, knowing all shops are going to be closed until Monday but the cake has to be delivered the next morning. Terror!!! I was horrified but decided not to let this bad batch of fondant get the best of me. So I decided to make a new design with the things I had left. The horses represent grandma and grandson and are made out of chocolatefondant. All further details and decoration such as the hay, the flower, the gifts are all made out of fondant. I was quite nervos when the customer came to pick it up, but as I had remembered her telling me how much her son loves horses, that's where I got the idea so I hoped it would be ok. She just loved it! It was a big hit! I had the little horse put his feet before his eyes waiting to unwrap his gift but as it turned out, that was what her son always does. In fact, she told me she wanted to take his bithday picture that morning but ended up just seeing his hands before his eyes. Bullseye! I was so relieved! The cake itself was two layers both Vanilla Sky (own recipe kind of sponge cake) with a filling of 'think Pink'(own recipe of strawberrycream) and fresh strawberries. Thanks for looking.

Cupcake Show Off
I was interviewed for a magazine and made these fun looking cupcakes just to serve with a cup of coffee. The stand was made by a friend of mine as a birthday gift to me and I just love it! She used different sizes of terracotta pots and dishes, glued them together and painted them white. She encluded some little vases which you can use for practically anything. This time I filled them with different sorts of flowers, all in my favourite colour red, but sometimes I put in candles or just some decorations or whatever I feel like. The cupcakes were decorated with miscellaneous decorations, just for fun. Thanks for looking!

Wedding Try Out Cakes
Didn't know where to put these pic's so sorry if I misplaced them! For newlyweds-to-be who are looking for the perfect weddingcake, I made some try-out cakes. These are small cakes in different tastes for them to pick the taste they really loved. No reason not to make them just a little pretty. So these are just for fun, not too high standard, but just also to give the happy couple an idea of how you can match cakes and cupakes and choose all kinds of different and fun looking decorations.

New Born Baby Girl
For a little baby girl who was born and was given an fairy like name (in Dutch) I made this cake and was inspired by Lindy Smith. I just loved her baby under a blanket. On the backside of the cake (not shown as I forgot to take a picture of the backside) were little pictures like babyfeet and such. the Cake was a Vanilla sky (own recipe sponge kind of cake) with a filling of perfect plum (own recipe) and white chocolate ganache. The whole cake was covered in with chocolate ganache and than decorated with fondant. I was told the new mother cried happy tears by seeing the cake and that really touched my heart. Customer let me know afterwards that it was the best cake they had ever eaten which I felt was a huge compliment. It was just so much fun to make. Thanks for looking!

Dress Up For Birthday
This lovely young girl turning 13 desperately wanted a 'dress' cake on her birthday. She asked me if it would be possible to make a dress shaped cake. I told her I could do better and suggested a mannequin with a ballroom dress. She was amazed and loved her cake! She asked her mom not to cut up the dress but only the cake underneath as she wanted to keep it for ever. I'm not sure if she got her way, but I was very pleased with her excitement. Bottem cake is a 9", I used a Wilton bowl pan for the skirt and inserted the body of a doll, removed arms and head, covered it first with black fondant, then with the bodypart of the dress. Thanx for looking!

Jungle Cake With Lion, Monkey, Snake And Crocodile
A lot of wishes came with this cake. Could I make this cake in earthly tones, make one layer with either zebra stripes of giraffe spots, add animals, three cakes, add a busy layer, a piecefullayer, add candles etcetera. I tried to fulfill as many wishes as I could, but still keep the cake pretty. I chose an earthly yellow colour and combined it with giraffe spots on one layer. The mom of the birthday boy was very specific in not wanting the cake to be 'too much' or 'too decorated' or 'too busy' so I thought this was a nice combination. I would have liked the monkey to have turned out a bit better but I loved the lion. I think the snake is a nice solution to decorate the edge between the tw cakes, I remember seeing it once somewher on the internet. Personally I don't like the three candles on top, they don't do justice to the cake I think, but 'mom' insisted on it. Won't do it again I think. I added the little pond with the funny crocodile head just as a finishing touch because I thought it just needed a little something. The name of the birthday boy is on the cakeboard as wished. All in all I think it turned out OK. All fondant! Thanx for looking!

World Champion Soccer Birthday Cake
This ten year old wanted it all for his birthday: the whole soccerfield, the FIFA world cup logo, the Dutch national colours of flag and soccer team (red, white blue, orange), benches for the audience to sit on and maybe some detail of his favourite player? So ...I made Dirk Kuyt (soccer player) out of fondant and everything else as well! It was quite a challenge keeping this vanilla cake filled with whipped cream and strawberries well with 36 degrees (C) outside! Thanx for looking!

Bollywood Birthday (Or Wedding) Cake
This cake is for a young lady turning 29 who never had a birthdaycake because of allergies. Allergenfree cakes are my specialty, this one was free of milk, lactose, soy, egg, peanuts and more. A two layer cake covered in marzipan (choice of birthday girl). She wanted everything pink and purple (I used all kinds of shades), an Indian touch (I addes paisley and other Indian looking figures) and something romantic. For that last detail, I I inserted a beautiful rose (I think you call it Piony in English?). The little sort of vase (you can use it to f.e. put one rose in for like a wedding, don't know what it's called) was inserted into the top cake, filled halfway with water and securely closed. The rose seemed to bloom out of the cake (she picked the cake up one day before so the rose actually started to bloom (blossom) during the birthday itself) and I put a thin sheet of flower plastic between the marzipan decoration and the rose. Finally, I covered the flower with a little vase turned upside down, to give it a mysterious chrystal bowl effect. I told her she had to look into the crystal bowl and would see how her she was just starting to blossom in her life. She loved it! Personally I think this sort of theme could do very well on a wedding aswell. Thanx for looking!

Cartier Meets Burberry
For a couple on their 12 1/2 year wedding anniversary, their friends wanted to do something special. They didn't have a specific idea, but showed me the family wapon and told me how they love things like Cartier and Burberry. They wanted a very stylish cake, yet personal. I decided to make a combination of things they had told me about this couple and made the family wapon the center piece on the cake. It was a really difficult job to make the wapon. I cut out everything by hand (out of fondant which I first coloured to match the colours in the wapon), than united all the small pieces. I than handpainted the wapon with blue luster dust and a drop of wodka. The old fashioned pink colour with which the cake was coverd, is actually also the colour which 'shades' through the family wapon. I made the burbery scarf with a little help from my pasta machine, which made the work ever so easy! This way I could roll out the fondant very thin and I made the smaller red lines with the tagliatelli part. Good tip!!! The Cartier watch was actually inspired here on CC. Looks difficult but I found it was really easy to make, although it's not so pretty as I've seen here on CC, but it was kind of a last minute request and I only had a day to make the whole cake. Double chocolate with chocolate ganache and cherry filling. (own recipes). Everything is edible except for the little silver buckle with the scarf. Thanx for looking.
