Julia's Wedding Cake
I got the inspiration for the cake, after some initial direction from my friend (the bride), from a cake decorating book. I tried to alter the design a little bit more, but the bride and I loved the original so much that it was hard to veer away! It's a 6-8-10; 6 and 10 are Chocolate Cake with mint buttercream and the 8 is Vanilla Chocolate Chip with vanilla buttercream. The ruffles are done in little 4 or 5 inch sections, a mix of fondant and gumpaste. (Shout out to gbbaker for all her advice on the ruffles!) I'm fairly pleased with how it turned out, and since I was at the wedding, I got to hear lots of the compliments firsthand which is always a treat!

Spring Hello Kitty
Made this for my manager's birthday, because she is obsessed with Hello Kitty. I went and picked out a Hello Kitty plushie, and then planned the cake around it, although I took the band idea with the flower from a cake by mrsmudrash/jessicakes. Just a small 6 inch, Vanilla Chocolate Chip cake with vanilla buttercream.

Purple Birthday Cake
Made this birthday cake for a friend of a friend, and her favourite colours were purple and gold. I used gold luster dust on the flowers and circles, although it was one of my first times using luster dust so it didn't turn out quite the way I had hoped. I believe it was red velvet and cream cheese icing, and just a small 6 inch. I made this cake after seeing it done by jo3d33.

Apple Anniversary Cake
A gift for my friend's 9th anniversary. Both her and her boyfriend are avid Apple fans, and he's also a computer engineer. So I had my husband, a computer science guy, write out a sweet message in C coding. Carved from 8 inch, chocolate orange cake with chocolate buttercream. Coding done with edible ink pen.

Athena's Wedding Cake
My first ever wedding cake! 6, 8, 10, 12. 6 and 12 were vanilla cake with vanilla buttercream. 8 and 10 were chocolate with chocolate buttercream. My chocolate cake recipe was too soft though, and those two tiers definitely didn't hold their shape well. Designs were stamped on.

Dan's Protoss Probe Cake
This was a cake I did for my husband's best friend. It's a cute version of a Protoss Probe from Starcraft. The field layer is classic chocolate cake and chocolate buttercream, and the body of the probe is vanilla chocolate chip cake with vanilla buttercream. All of the wings and minerals were done with Rice Krispy treats. It's a bit sloppy around the edges, but I definitely learned a lot from this cake!

Lauren's Shower Cake
A cake inspired by CC user Vrinda, which was the first cake I had seen with the buttercream embroidery. I covered the cake in flowers (used a Wilton flower cutter to make imprints to follow) and included the bride and groom's monogram as well (pin pricking method). The top tier was a chocolate cake with chocolate buttercream, and the bottom tier was carrot cake with cream cheese icing. Overall, fairly happy with how it turned out!

Quilled Birthday Cake
This is a birthday cake for one of my best friends, and I wanted to give her a spring time cake since here in Edmonton, her birthday is still in the lingering wintertime. It was a great excuse to try quilling for the first time too. I used a metal clay gun, and it was a little rough on my hands after a while, but I do like how it turned out. 6 inch, Chocolate cake with Oreo buttercream.

Lauren's Cupcakes
Wedding shower cupcakes for my good friend Lauren. Three flavours for these ones: vanilla chocolate chip, orange, and white chocolate raspberry. The purple buttercream icing was piped with a Wilton 1M tip to get the rose look, and each cupcakes was topped with the fondant roses. I made the roses according to Chef Duff's method, and they were super easy!! This was also the first time that I made the cupcake wrappers too. A little time consuming, but were totally worth it as they looked great, and was a great way to tell the flavours apart.
