Cars Cake
This was for my son's 2nd bday....I was so excited about making him a caddy wompas Wiggles cake, but when the time came, he hadn't watched The Wiggles in a month and couldn't get enough Lightning McQueen! Oh well! All fondant with toys so that he could keep them to play with. Oh, the cars at the bottom were on a rack at Walmart that said $2.96 each. I did NOT want to put more $ into this cake, it was just one of those projects that got expensive quick (I ran out of everything, food coloring, black fondant, cake circles, foamcore) When I rang them up, they were really $6 each!!!!! I was in a huge hurry to get us and the cake to the party that I didn't really have another option.

Pogo Stick Cake
I really wish I could say I got my inspiration from the other pogo stick cakes on CC...But there wasn't ANY!!! Or anywhere else on the internet! The mom sent me a picture message of the pogo stick and I was able to carve a 9x13 cake and place the pieces in the right shape. My problem was making it look neat and not sloppy. It was fun to make!

Zhu Zhu Pets Cake
Inspired by the many cute zhu zhu cakes on CC, esp smbegg and SusanReis. Thanks for the cute ideas....Jilly is made from cake ball mixture bc I'm scared to use RKT bc I think it'd turn out bumpy. I shaped her and froze her, then covered in fondant. Letters were cut with the cricut cake

Pool Table
my first pool table cake.....there was so much more detail to this then I realized...it was very time consuming. the balls were made with a 12mm bead maker to save time, the cues were gumpaste. Letters and fleur de lis were cut with cricut cake. the hardest part was the pockets, I just could not make them look right, but I like the final result....Oh, and when I delivered the cake, I realized my 2yr old had eaten the cue ball!!!! I am blessed to have a friend that owns a nearby bakery and I ran and mooched a pinch of fondant to make another one and took it back and stuck it on the cake!

Greenbay Cake
This was for a 40th bday/ Superbowl party. The cake was the best chocolate cake EVER and the result of a mistake! I bought a DH devil's food mix and a DH dark choc. fudge mix, mixed them together and used the same extender recipe I always do. It wasn't until after I tasted it that I realized they were not both devil's food! Yum, new recipe!!! Anyway, I will never criticize another decorator bc they only use piped stars....that is an art and it requires talent and patience to look neat and I don't have it! LOL..this was inspired by jeannetted23. Thanks for looking!

Happy Cake!
I LOVED this cake! The morning after I finished it, I woke up and walked into my kitchen and all the bright colors and daisies just made me smile. I made this display for a local photographer's humane society fundraiser, along with 200 sample mini cupcakes. All cake dummies with Wilton fondant bc it dries rock hard (and I didn't have time this week for 4 extra batches of MMF) Thanks for looking!

Perfect Harmony
This was our entry in the 2010 National Peanut Festival Cake Decorating Competition. We won 1st place in Wedding Cake division and Best In Show. This was inspired by a cake posted by Peecheekeeno a few months ago. It was a joint effort between myself and my best cake friend, Clarissa Levey or apieceofcake75 on CC. We made a mold of a brooch from Michaels with Amazing Putty and cast all those brooches from gumpaste. Gumpaste flowers, fondant ruffles, and the ruched part is fondant. Corset part is carved cake and the rest are dummies. We called the cake Perfect Harmony bc we worked over 50 hrs together on it and never had one disagreement.

60Th Birthday Cake
I was told nothing funky, but elegant. The cake is yellow with lemon buttercream. 9" and 6" rounds with gumpaste/ chocolate fondant flowers. Sugar pearls on top. Satin ribbon border. Theres a small brooch in the bottom flower. The topper came from Michaels, where I teach cake classes every week and I just found them on the wedding aisle! I had no idea they sold them bc I never venture off of the cake aisle! TFL!

Retro Wedding Cake
A friend was giving her parents a party for their 50th wedding anniversary and asked me to recreate their cake from 1960, complete with columns, satellite cakes and sugar bells...I can't back down from a challenge and ended up doing fondant roses when the originals were piped....I had piped them first but I'm in Dothan and its too humid for them to stay on and not slide, so the wire in the fondant ones worked great! Besides the fondant roses, all buttercream

Behold The Lamb Cake
4 tier cake, actually a cake for our church merging celebration. yellow and chocolate with Macsmom's BC MMF, airbrushed with pearl and blue food color "paint". I wanted to make a flower to cover the hole in the top but didn't have time, so we used a lamb instead and it went perfectly with the theme at church 14", 10", 8", 6"

Baby Birdie Shower
My plan for this cake changed at the last minute, due to lack of time. Originally, the 6" tier on top was pink with green spirally vines. They pulled my buttercream right of the sides of the cake! It was 2am when I finished that part and then I had to scrape it all off and start over!!! AGHHHHH! I finally went to bed at 3:30. Anyway, All buttercream with fondant cutouts. The button flowers, butterflies and birds (and the stick:) are gumpaste. This matched a custom invitation and this ended up being the fanciest baby shower I have ever seen. Thanks for looking!

Nora's Teapot
My friend's daughter, Nora, was turning 5 and wanted a tea party and this is the cake and cupcakes I made for her. Teapot is strawberry cake w buttercream icing and BC MMF, made in sportsball pan. Covered in MMF and gumpaste and royal icing decorations. Cupcakes are yellow cake, buttercream icing w MMF ribbon roses. The spout for the teapot looked hideous & that is why all the flowers are there:) TFL!

Autobot symbol cut with an XACTO knife (yes, I sliced up my roll and cut mat:( cutting it out) using a laminated template from the internet. Yellow cake w buttercream and Transformer deco. kit. TFL!
