The Cake That Started It All
This is my wedding cake. I couldn't find someone in town to make my wedding cake so I signed up for some Wilton classes offered at our local Hobby Lobby. My mom helped with the black drop string border, but I did the rest. One of my friends came up to me during my reception and asked, "Who did your cake?" I told her I did and she told me that I was hired to make her cake for her wedding the following summer. And that's how I got into making cakes.

Relief Society Birthday
The women's group with my church, the relief society, wanted a cake to celebrate the birthday of the organization. Around the sides of the top tier are words that describe some of the things we do or represent what the relief society means to me. They include love, friends, angels, and service. The roses are gum paste a long with the logo, figurines, and candles. It was warm in my house the day I was icing it so things started to sag, but everyone loved it. (I can't wait til I get AC in my house)
