Angry Birds!
I used a half round cake pan and made one half out of cake and the other half out of RKT. The beak, feathers, and tail are fondant/gum paste mixture. The beak is heavy enough that I was afraid it might tear through the cake. The RKT seems to be holding it just fine. This was very fun and my first attempt at a round cake. I found a picture of this on the internet and just had to try it, as it was my son's 22nd birthday and he just LOVES to play Angry Birds on his phone!

Shoebox Birthday Cake
It was my girlfriend's 50th birthday, but I wanted to show her how cute and classy I think she is, rather than rub it in that she turned the big 5-0! The lid is covered styrofoam and the jewelry is real....all else is edible. Thanks to those on Cake Central for the inspiration and for the shoe pattern...my first attempt!

Topsy Turvy Cake
I made this cake for my son who recently returned from a two-year church mission to Brazil. It was my first "topsy-turvy," although I admit using the fun cake stand could be considered "cheating!" Everything is fondant except the H and the flag on top. It was also my first attempt at a human figure. I could probably use a little practice, but I had a great time making this. We served matching cupcakes of lime and lemon.
