This cake was made for my husbands 25Th birthday!! The scores are from the game Ellsbury stole home last year. The cake is chocolate with peanut butter filling, butter cream, covered in MMF. The hat is covered in MMF and the sign is gum paste.
This is my first cake i have ever sold! I was asked to make a girly basket ball themed cake for a sweet 16! I had alil trouble coming up with this theme because they dont go together in my head. I also had a hard time getting the purple color right. I tryed the purple luster dust by Wilton but it keeps coming out very blue on the cake. My purple gel food coloring keeps coming out to dark when i painted it on. I ened up painting it on with a wash cloth and it came out the color i wanted! To get the basketball effect i placed the a dry wash cloth on the wet paint!! It wasnt my fav cake i have done but they loved it.

I make the sea shells out of gum paste with a chocolate mold. They are painted with luster dust. Their is pour sugar coarl around the side of the cake but the sugar tends to melt so put it on right befor u serve it.
This is a cake i made for my dads 60th birthday. He has been a smoker since i was little and he loves to gamble. Those cigarettes are made of gum paste around candles so they actually burned. Their is also all hand shaped gumpast dice and cards around it.
