Engagement By The Sea

2 loval ayer cake, with cream cheese bc , that proved to be a little bit too thin for my basketweave, so youl'll see a lot of shells. The best thing, the couple loved it because they love shells. All the shells are fondant, brushed with different color pearl dusts while still soft.. The lids were made on the back of the pans with medium royal icing;tip #3 for the lines and tip #14 for the edges. Just make sure you baste the pan with vegetable shortenting. Wait at least two days, gently release two opposite corners with fingertips. They came out great.

Happy Easter

6" x 4" w/BC icing. Fondant for decorations. Stamps and pearl dust used to accent eggs. The bow was imprinted with star end of tip #14 and brushed lightly with pearl dust.Toothpicks were placed in bottom of eggs before drying. It was fun to make, but next time, I will make thinner and a little shorter ropes.

Desert Planter

The cake is 6x4 coated and filled with BC. Fondant was used for everything else, with the exception of BC for aloe accents and flower centers. This is my original design and no templates, cutouts or molds were used. All free-hand. It was so much fun to make, that time passed so quickly before I realized that I was at my work table for three hours before looking at the clock. I plan to continue with more container and plant combinations. Let me know what you think, and any suggestions on this cake.

Desert Wedding

Two tier 6x4 and 8x2 cakes, covered in chocolate buttercream. Plants are fondant with buttercream accents. Rocks are fondant. The plants are aloe and hens-and-chicks as they appear in Spring in the desert. This was my first try at doing plants free-hand. It was fun!

Garden Of Love

6 and 8 x 4 round cakes. Cake and decorations are fondant, with the exception of the bees and butterflies, (the bride had these in her bouquet and requested them on the cake). The rose and pink matched the maids' bouquets and they wore sky blue gowns with rose and pink sashes. It was a Cottage Style Wedding reception.

Pink Rosettes With Brown

8x4" cake. All buttercream, Rink Rosettes covering top ( two layers in varying areas).and also bottom borders. Used decorating comb on sides. Made cupcakes with chocolate rose on top.

White Carnations

Fondant covered round cake with 5 to 1 ratio of fondant and gum paste for overlay. Carnations are all gum paste. Gum paste adhesive used for leaves and center of overlay. Over was 2 inches larger then cake, which I should have done 3 inches larger, and made cake 4 inches high vs 3 inches.

Flowered Cross

Cross pan, iced and borders done in buttercream, with royal icing flowers. Great for 1st Communion , but possibly adjust the flowers to child's liking.

Two Color Rose Cake On Stenciled Cake Board.

Whimsical , all buttercream, wedding cake, for an intimate gathering. The rose colors are pink and coral ( but the coral shows orange in the picture). The couple wanted sayings that reflected their feelings. So instead of making the cake too crowded, I stenciled the cake board. I did add lace ruffle when brought to reception site.
