Carved Darth Maul (Star Wars) head covered in fondant, then painted. His horns are under the hood. This was for my grandson. He won't cut it.
Birthday cake for a favorite neighbor. BC frosting with fondant rose.
This was done in BC rather than fondant and the edges were not as smooth as I would have liked. I'm still in the learning process. Strings are fine crochet thread.
Chocolate cake with flower-like BC top. I can't do roses so I tend to get carried away with something different.
I copied this from the gorgeous cake by veragatagera and you'll note that it's no-where near the same but my aunt loved it anyway. It was her 86th birthday and she said it was the most beautiful cake she has ever had. Covered in MMF with fondant accents.
My son's girlfriend is a word puzzle fan and loved this cake. I took a tube of frosting for her to circle the words before cutting the cake. It was a big hit! Thanks to all here for the great ideas because I have few originals of my own.
This was for my Uncle's 80th birthday... his passion is his garden and he loved the cake. The white thing in the left corner is supposed to be a dog. He thought it was a sheep.
The idea was for this to look like a crocheted quilt and I think it turned out well. Frosting is BC using a variety of tips.
Hummingbird and flower are MMF, painted with food coloring.
Cake for 40th birthday. The stars on top are not edible.
Fondant covered with fondant accents.
Fondant covered ring on BC cake. Ropes are cotton string because the licorice kept stretching.
Small John Deere tractor and wagon. Pumpkins are fondant. Straw bales are cake chunks covered with frosting and tinted coconut.
