This is a luau cake I made based off of an idea my daughter found online. The top tier is chocolate and the bottom is vanilla.
I haven't made cakes in a while, but a friend asked me to do a sculpted cake. I've only ever done one other sculpted cake which was my second cake ever and I felt I sucked at it. Not sure what happened, but somehow this thing came together nicer than I expected! It was really fun to do and got me excited about cake again.

Buttercream cake for babyshower. This was designed to match the baby's room theme. There are little monkeys poking their heads out of a few dots.
This is my third tiered (and paid) cake. The baby, moon and bear are gumpaste. Fun cake to make, but I wish I would have done better on the baby.
Rocket is a carved 4" cake with fondant. The four characters are toys. Although it was a simple design, it seemed to take FOREVER and I still had that "OMG is this going to work out" moment, LOL!
