Grantz Sinclair Wedding
Top tier: lemon. Remaining tiers: vanilla. Marshmallow fondant and gumpaste roses. I used the new Wilton cherry blossom mold for the vines and PME plunger cutter for the leaves. Roses stuck on spaghetti pieces and then glued with Royal icing. The topper is the small version of Willow Tree Promise. My first wedding cake!

Bass Drum And Mallets
Marshmallow fondant covered vanilla and chocolate cakes. Mallets are made with dowels, candy melts, RKT, and fondant strips. The wear on the mallets is a combination of cocoa powder (a tiny amount) and powdered sugar. The sheen on the red fondant was painted on red fondant using a mixture of everything but the kitchen sink (coloring, pearl glaze, silver airbrush color, pearl dust, and disco dust).

Black Belt Karate Cake
2D carved carved cake iced in buttercream with MMF decor. The patch is dusted with Wilton Pearl Dust. Thanks to the cc member who did this first! I had your cake saved for a long time just waiting for the owner of the studio (with whom I tailgate) to ask me to make her a cake. She thought she could only afford a sheet cake, but I showed her the joys of 2D for a minimal increase in price. Easy cake to make and one of her students said, "This is the best cake we've ever had!" Created for their end of the year celebration where they also honor those who have passed their Black Belt test that year.

Pixar Luxo Lamp
Hubby and I almost had this one! A small tap light was used for the light and my husband built the stand and a special board (using two round pieces with space in between) that hung from a dowel to hold the light and the top cake. One week later, I finally found those tiny lights in the wedding aisle at Michaels. Argh!!!! Hubby held the top cake while I installed the light and it fit so tightly that he had to hold it too long, thus softening the fondant and leaving finger impressions all over it. Darn it all! Cake was for my son's 21st birthday. He has his Associates in Digital Media Design and is now working towards his Bachelors in Animation. He dreams of working at Pixar one day, thus the cake. I have tons of pictures of the process if anyone would like to see them. MMF and a medium cupcake pan (the kind that you bake in two pieces) was used for the top cake.

Bustier Cookies
Duff's fondant for the red fondant and MMF for the flowers. I used an impression mat for the pattern on the fondant. Thank you to the cc member who made these first. What an inspiration! The appendages are cookies and I learned I need to bake them separately and then glue them on with icing otherwise they aren't quite done. One of these was shipped overseas to a soldier on duty even though I warned them it would likely be stale by the time it arrived. He got a great kick out of it! NFSC recipe for the cookie.

Easter Chick Ball Cake
Thanks to cc for the inspiration! I wish I could remember the username who's picture I used, but a special thanks to you! I made two of these using the Wilton ball pan: one for my dad in the hospital and one for the holiday meal at my sister's house. MMF fondant. The grass on the board is failed white ganache colored green that I saved with a few buttercream clumps of grass.

Princess Belle Castle
This cake was a nightmare! I prepped for it all week and pulled my first all-nighter to get it finished. The towers are RKT pushed through a plastic pipe used for sink plumbing. The tops of the towers are ice cream cones. The tower really needs the other shape of ice cream cone, too, to make it look right and for the crenelations to have more to stand up against. Pearl dust and disco dust brushed on all over. MMF fondant and the cake sizes were 6 and 10 inches. I used the Wilton kit for inspiration and the window and door pieces to impress my fondant. I forgot to use an impression mat for the castle walls. :( Client purchased and placed the figure. The tops of the tower were decorated by brushing on candy melts and sprinkling Wilton cake sparkles over it. The client and the guests were thrilled with the cake. Whew!

Rufus Pumpkin Fall Tailgate Cake
Made for our tailgate group at Ohio University. The bobcat is their mascot; his name is Rufus. His fangs looks a bit funny, but I did my best. First time using the PME leaf plunger molds, and I love them! Rhonda's Ultimate MMD covered and decor. Cake is pumpkin WASC, of course!

High School Graduation
This cake was a mess! It was falling apart at the corners when I got up the morning after finishing it, the goal posts wouldn't stay hard thanks to the heat and humidity. Ugh! The graduate played football and was going to college to study medicine so I wrapped a snake around the goal post to represent that. The hornet is his high school mascot. and he's going to Ohio State so I put a buckeye on there, too.

Gingerbread Band Kids
A rush job for my daughter's college band. They had to miss a lot of family gatherings last year due to football playoffs and a bowl so we made these to cheer them up on the bus ride. They were such a hit that they didn't want to eat them. We promised to make salt dough ornaments for them next year so guess what's all over my house right now? LOL Betty Crocker gingerbread mix, chocolate Royal Icing (to get a decent black) and regular Royal Icing.
