Lego Cake
I made this cake for my son's 6th birthday. I gave him six legos (see the tiny ones on the cake base) and told him to "design your cake!" He brought me back two towers and said he wanted two towers just like that! So, that's what I made him. The outside is modeling chocolate made from Wilton candy melts. Thanks for looking!

Buttercream Frills (Or Ruffles) Cake
I needed a quick, sweet and feminine cake for my beautiful friend's b-day. I've seen the fondant frills but it seems to be a pretty time consuming process. So, I thought I could pull it off with buttercream...and I did!!! It took me only 30 min. or so to do the whole cake! I used the Ateco #104 tip.

Star Of Christmas Cake
I made this cake for Half Baked - The Cake Blog's 12 Cakes of Christmas. My inspiration was the Star of Christmas - Jesus Christ. The fact that He was born as a man, lived among us and died for us so that we could go to Heaven is the best gift ever given. The dragees represent cities on a hill reflecting His glory and love. We, as Christians, are all called to be little lights, reflecting His Light and Love! Blessings!

Korean Inspired Birthday Cake
I made this cake for a sweet sweet friend of mine turning 40! The Korean characters I painted around the top and bottom tier say things like, Beautiful Woman, Devoted Wife, Loving Mother, etc. It was chocolate mudcake with chocolate ganache. The black pattern is modeling chocolate. The flower is inspired by the Rose of Sharon...the Korean national flower and her wedding flower. Her favorite colors are turquoise, red and black. This cake was featured in Cake Central Magazine last month. Thanks for looking!

4Th Of July Cake
I designed this cake for a sweet friend of mine who was having a very nice 4th of July party at their lake home. She wanted something modern, colorful and that included some kind of firework. This is the design I came up with! I'm super happy with it! It's a 10" round, 6" tall (chocolate cake with mocha SMBC) and 8" round, 2" tall (vanilla cake with sliced strawberries and vanilla bean SMBC) and a 6" round, 6" tall (vanilla cake with sliced strawberries and vanilla bean SMBC). It was on the center table and would be viewed from all sides, so it had to work at all angles. The fireworks are melted chocolate, piped onto crisco covered wax paper, refridgerated, then peeled off carefully and attached to the cake. The red decorations are modeling chocolate. Violin Cake
My first musical instrument!! I made this for a dear friend's birthday! It's one layer vanilla cake and vanilla buttercream. I found a picture online I used for a template and cut everything out days ahead so things would have time to dry. I used fondant/gumtex mixed for the components. Although I should have used gumpaste because not everything hardened up completely. Thanks for looking!
