The Hunting Shack
I was asked to make a cake for my Great Uncle's 85th Birthday party. I went a little grander than they expected and ended up being a surprise for all. My Uncle can no longer go to the hunting shack to hunt and he was very emotional when he saw the cake. It is a replica of my family's hunting shack that has been in our family for over 100 years.

A Duke Birthday
These are two cakes I did for my cousin's twins 1st birthday who just happen to be named Bo & Luke. I also did 4 dozen cupcakes to match. Photo under cupcakes. I tried to make these "cartoonish" since they were only 1. The boards are decorated in green colored coconut and brown sugar. I used a matchbox type car to make the tracks in the "sand".

Deer Head
I was asked to try to do this cake for a friend's surprise 50th Birthday party. I wasn't sure if I could pull it off, I haven't done anything like it , nor have I done that many cakes. After 2 full days of working on this cake plus the Dukes Of Hazard cakes in the same week and 2 hours of sleep I think the deer head turned out pretty well. Antlers are dark chocolate fondant formed around #9 electrical wire and the wire stripped down to form the tines wrapped around the insulated wire part. Head is tin foil formed to look like a deer head and I brushed 2 layers of candy melts and a layer of buttercream and a layer of fondant. The chest is all cake. I did have a probelm with keeping the santlers up so I had to use sticks to keep them up. I also would probably form the antlers when I was ready to form the head and add fondant all at once. I formed the antlers 2 days before I did anything else for the cake.
