Alex's Paintball Cake
The cake is dark chocolate with buttercream frosting and chocolate buttercream for the filling. It is a 9 x 13 inch pan on top of an 11 x 15. The wall is chocolate bark. (I poured it into the roof mold for a "gingerbread" candy house mold.) The boy and all other decorations are fondant. (It is the first time I molded a person and he ended up with one ear flattened. Just battle scars I guess. Many thanks to phoohbear and k-dub for the ideas.

Mardi Gras Birthday Cake
This was for my granddaughter who just turned five. They were in New Orleans for Mardi Gras so decided to use that for the theme. It is a yellow 6 inch and 8 inch cake and a dark chocolate fudge for the 10 inch cake. The filling was chocolate buttercream frosting. The lettering was fondant. Everything else, excluding Mardi Gras decorations, was buttercream frosting. (The 400 mile trip put quite a crack in the green frosting.) Thanks for looking. (I had green candles and yellow ones - but her favorite color is pink and insisted that was what she wanted on the cake!)

Happy Birthday Jesus
I baked the chocolate cake and frosted it with buttercream. My granddaughter (11 1/2 at the time) designed it and did all the decorating. The cross was chocolate bark in a mold. The little presents she intended to make from fondant but ended up using some homemade candy cut into squares.

12Th Birthday Topsy-Turvy
I guess the first TT cake I made 2 years ago was beginner's luck! I somehow got this one lined up wrong and call it a "tipsy" cake as it all was basically toward the front! It is a 6', 8", and 10" - chocolate for the bottom cake and the rest yellow. Chocolate frosting for the filling (I find the children rather frosting than a filling.) The frosting is buttercream and all decorations are fondant, whch my granddaughter brushed quite a bit with peart dust. (My granddaughter designed it .)

Anthurium And Bow Tie
My eleven year old granddaughter just decorated this cake for her parents wedding anniversary. The cakes (5,6",8, and 10) are single layers of dark chocolate. The frosting is buttercream. She wanted it a very light gray, but after she frosted it she thought it looked blue; therefore she went over every bit of it with a multitude of different tips to recover it all! She made up the complete design: the flowers to represent her mommys bouquet, the bow tie to represent her daddy, and the top hat to represent the decorations at the reception. Thank you so very much for looking.

Happy Birthday Sandra
I made this cake for our mail lady - she is the greatest! It is a lemon cake - 6' rounds topped with 1/2 the sports ball. The filling is coconut. Frosted with buttercream .Fondant flowers and leaves plus filled in with buttercream drop flowers and leaves. Thanks for looking! (The color of the cake didn't come out right in the picture - the "basket" is tan.)

Army Cake
This is another cake that I took on a 7 hour drive! Traveled as two cakes - base of 11x15" and top of 6" round. All devils food cake with buttercream frosting. The lettering and candle holders were fondant. The road was graham cracker crumbs. The rocks were thickened buttercream, then coated in sugar. After studying about every tank cake on here, my grandson (it was his 8th birthday) informed me that he wanted a "real" army tank, and I added the helicopter. His 3 1/2 year old sister helped me put all the decorations on the cake. It was an easy, fun cake to make (especially with my little helper!) but shows up as "awfully busy" in the pictures! Thanks for looking!

Father's Day/ Family Reunion
This was a "trial run" for a family reunion next month. I will have to bake and decorate it across the country from here so tried to use what I will be using there. Will have to use store bought frosting which I never use and it is runny. Added lots of powdered sugar but it wouldn't seem to thicken up. It is a pumpkin sheet cake with cream cheese frosting. I got my idea from Alickert but there's surely no comparison between the two!

Hydrangia For Birthday Or Mother's Day
This was made for a fund rsiser for a local young lady that is battling cancer. It is a spice cake with butterscotch filling in a 9" oval pan. Flowers, stem, and leaves are fondant. Frosted and trimmed with buttercream. The design was inspired by this card I made - which was inspired by a card making magazine I had. Had lots of trouble with the cake. I had been told by several people to use store bought individule pudding cups for filling which I decided to try. Don't know if it was because it wasn't as thick as the fillings I cook or what but it kept bulging out. Then the cake had so many crumbs I decided to crumb coat it (which I usually don't do) and it wouldn't crust over - so the final coat still had lots of crumbs showing! Thanks for looking!

Peach Fondant Flowers
When I took my first fondant class I was so far behind everyone, a couple of the ladies wanted to help so much that I felt I really hadn't done it at all myself. Therefore, I came home, baked this oval cake, covered it with fondant, and made these "pretend" style flowers for it. Thanks for looking!

Superman Cake
This was for my grandson's 5th bd. The Superman figurine is on top of a half ball pan. Think the base is 10 inch cake. I know the cake is chocolate, both filled and frosted with buttercream. After a 7-hour trip, little boys couldn't keep their fingers out of it! Kept patching it up until I said I wouldn't any more. Well, when my daughter got there she said I needed to patch it - they had dug a hole in the front of it! Just before the party my son decided he wanted the cake at a different location and when a friend moved it the figurine fell! Thanks for looking!

Happy Birthday/mother's Day
8-inch cake made for gf several years ago - don't remember flavor - probably is coconut and pecan filling cooked in microwave . Royal icing flowers left over from class. Color flow fence before having any classes in it - my first -and I definitely had lots to learn! Rope edging.

Happy 40Th
This is a coconut cake and the filling consists of sugar, sour cream, and coconut. You take out a cup of the combination and add whipped topping to it for the "frosting." It isn't something you can really decorate on, but just before my daughter got here I did the little bit of decoring. The circles are fondant that I made earlier. (This cake is to be refligerated for three days before you eat it and my daughter had requested it for her birthday.)

Katherine's Ballet
I just finished this cake to take on a seven to eight hour ride tomorrow celebrating my 3 year old granddaughter's first dance recital. It is a dark chocolate fudge cake with German chocolate filling. The flowers, bow, and ballet slippers are fondant, all the rest is buttercream. Thanks for looking!
