Where The Wild Things Are
cake for grandson's 2nd birthday. His favorite story is "Where the wild things are" so the open book was based on that with 8 inch max and wild thing plushes for accent.. Animals,nursery rhymes and harold and the purple crayon "books" complete the look. Cakes are covered w/ buttercream then a layer of colored choco-pan and hand painted. Page seperations in sides were made with fork tines. Some details were cut from chocopan, laid on the cake then painted. Various size square and rectangle pans were use

Birch Logs And Fall Leaves
triple stacked birch logs with chocolate walnuts,acorns, other nuts, and edible rice paper fall leaves scattered on layers Cake was 3 layers of the Pumpkin cake II recipe found on CC (less the walnuts in case of any allergies) with the Dec. cream cheese icing found on CC. Cake was iced smooth, then refrigerated to set up. The bark effect was done using a very fine point paint brush dipped in Dark chocolate "melts" that I thinned out with a touch of veg. oil then painted on.

Marlana's Rose Fountain
Roses surrounding stacked tiers and fountain used for topper. Deep rose fondant border on all layers trimmed top and bottom with buttercream beads. Cakes done in buttercream. consists of 8 6" two layer cakes surrounding 1 @ 10" 2 layer cake. topped w/1 @ 16" 2 layer and 1 @ 10" two layer. Fountain on top of all cakes, Irridescent doves attached to fountain sides.

Two Hearts Joined
stacked oval layers with lavender hearts and swirls pattern replicated from toppers bridal gown. Cake was made for a couple who had planned a larger wedding but health problems upped the date so I made this cake for them so that they wouldn't have just a sheet cake from the local grocery store.
