10Th Birthday Photo Cake
This was for my daughters 10th birthday. I found pictures from every year and had it copied on edible paper. Placed photos around the cake and iced the edges to stick better. Placed cake on turntable so all the photos could be easily viewed. Wish I had more time to do fondant and make it look better, but I still like the photo idea.

Fun In The Fall
I made this for a cake contest, the main photo is a picture of it at the show. I rushed through this cake. On the way home a deer ran into my car and sent the cake flying in my trunk as you can see from the other photo. I was not happy with the eyes so I tried something different after the show, that pic is in the extra photos. Head is cupcakes, iced in frosting and covered in modeling chocolate. Hair is fondant. Arms and body are rkt covered in modeling chocolate. The pile is a 12", 10" and 8" cake covered in icing then covered in gumpaste leaves.

Elmo Sitting Up
This was for a 1st Birthday party. 3d elmo ended up being 16" tall. Getting the icing red was the most challenging and trying to make all the parts seperate throughout but then fit at the end. Planned on making the head out of rkt so the shape could be more like a football but humidity made it too soft. Ended up using 2-8" and 2-6" cakes for the head and carved a little bit to get that shape.

Tales Of Despereaux
My niece loves to read and one of her favorite books is Tales of Despereaux. I was going to do the books in fondant and have all the books off center but the fondant got too hard because I added gum tex. So I just used buttercream. It was extremely hot and humid when I made this cake, which is why it is so shinny. I lost power for a day so I lost allot of decorating time. Once I let go of how I wanted to do it and looked at it from an 8 year old's point of view, things began to run more smoothly. Next time I will use merange powder to avoid the buttercream from drooping. The mouse was done with fondant. It's was difficult to get him to look like despereaux, that was as close as I could get; it was fun making him.
