Happy 2nd Birthday Ellie! 6" - 3 layer Red Velvet Dora the Explorer cake tops this cupcake stand with matching vanilla cupcakes. Purchased the candied Dora heads for the cupcakes, cupcakes topped with buttercream, everything else is SI fondant. Cupcake stand is Wilton's Sweet Server - styro foam and not very sturdy. Supposed to be able to reuse but we will see if it holds up. It was wiggling under the weight of the topper cake.

Cake inspired by pinkcakebox.com For a "Snow Bunny" who is turning 30. Satin Ice fondant. Dots on snowflakes and snow on the 30 are royal icing. (My original 3 broke and was irrepairable so the last minute one has a wire in it and is too fat... only way I could get it to stay up.)
I did 20 french poodle themed mini cakes for a baby shower. 1/2 of each. SI fondant. Made my own stencils for eiffel tower and poodle and used royal icing.
For my sons 2nd birthday. King of the Jungle themed birthday. All SI fondant. Hand painted leopard spots with food coloring. Lion is fondnat with buttercream mane. THanks for looking! ;)
Baby Shower Cake. Hostess gave me a picture of a cake by Deds with the baby animals on top and asked if I would incorporate pink w/ zebra print. Not as wonderful as the original by Deds, but it did the job!

A friends 2 year old's birthday. My first time carving the cake since last time I used rice crispies to make Elmo. Not as difficult as I feared. I scraped the lid this time cause It was not working and it was styrofoam, so not even edible. I think it's cute without it anyway. SI fondant, and piped elmo's "fur" with buttercream using star tip.
This was a last minute request for a friend for a combined birthday party for her two kids, boy & girl. She wanted a Topsy Turvy whimsical cake 1/2 boyish & 1/2 girly. I decided just to have fun with it and wanted to do these funky "Sex in the City" flowers so I just went for it and made it up as I went and it's really different but I love it. I'm sure it if I had more time to plan ahead and order supplies it would have been much better, but it was good practice since I've only used gumpaste once before
Inspired by JSmith's beautiful cake. I made the stencil from my favorite Michael Miller fabric. Bow and broach are fondant. Damask is royal icing. Tried to odo the lid in panels - I just went for it with no idea what I was doing, I guess it turned oiut ok. thanks for looking!
Made this for my Mother in Law, her company is called 'Green Tulip'. 6" & 8" Chocolate cake covered in SI Dark Chocolate Fondant. Gumpaste Tulips (my first gumpaste anything!!!) RI piping. My 2 year old son thought he was helping me and poked a few holes in this cake unfortunately. But it still tasted great!
6", 8", 12" offset square tiers of red Velvet cake covered in SI fondant. My first loopy bow-fondant. Bride wanted loopy bow with only one trailing down ribbon - I thought it would dumb but I like how it turned out. Black fondant ribbon around bottom tier topped with fondant pearls. The Couture Disaster! I was so excited and almost everything went wrong. the cake slumped all to the back. the bow was a nightmare I redid 3 times. the fondant cracked and wrinkled. SInce the cake slid to the back the dowel was sticking out the top. But you know what... live and learn. This was my first purse cake so it can only get better from here ( I hope!). Logo made with a homemade stencil, & royal icing. Cake covered with SI fondant. Bow was part fondant and part gumpaste w/Super Pearl Pearl Dust
Cheerleading Megaphone & Pom Pom cupcakes. All Satin Ice fondant. Made a stencil for the hornets and painted on with food coloring. Fondant through a Clay gun (with plenty of shortening to help soften) for the letters, trim and pom poms. Thanks for looking!
Inspired by franjmc's beautiful cake. Was so excited when the bride said her colors were pink & brown! 10", 8", 6" rounds covered in all Satin Ice fondant. 8" is in dark chocolate Satin Ice. Pink is Wilton Pink. Bow is fondant with Tylose mixed in with Super Pearl - Pearl dust. Pearls are fondant covered in Super Pearl - Pearl Dust. Cake board covered in pink fondant and trimmed with ribbon. Was a fun cake to make! Got a little rained on while unloading from my car, but overall turned out well!
Used a real flip flop as a pattern and cut out from a 10" square, Durable vanilla cake, covered in Satin Ice Fondant. Thong pieces are fondant mixed with Tylose powder. Sand is light brown sugar.
8" Vanilla cake, 3 layer (lid is 3rd layer), covered in Satin Ice fondant with Wilton Pink icing color. 'Super Pearl' Pearl dust applied to bow. Edible markers for the writing. Thanks for looking!
