Teddy Bear Baby Shower Mini Cake & Cupcakes
We had a surprise baby shower for my brother and my sister-in-law who were visiting from out of town. I based the cake and cupcakes on my daughter's cute little teddy bear that she received as a gift from my brother and sister-in-law. I originally had another design planned for this cake but I changed it completely when I realized that design would not work. I seem to get a lot of last minute inspirations at 11pm at night! Thanks for looking.

Wedding Cupcakes
These are cupcakes from my first wedding order! 9 dozen lemon cupcakes from scratch covered in light purple fondant and decorated with fondant flowers. The bride requested two special cupcakes for herself and the groom. The bride's cupcake had lots of roses and butterflies and the groom's cupcake had an airplane on it because he is a pilot. Overall I was really happy with the results and I'm so relieved that it is finally over! It took much longer than I had anticipated but I learned so much from this experience. Thank you so much everyone for all of your help. I posted many questions in the forum about how to organize myself and I had so much wonderful advice. They were all displayed on the cupcake stand built by my husband's friend with antonia74's very helpful instructions. Thank you so much Helen!

Cherry Blossom Mother's Day Cake For My Mom!
This is the cake that I made for my mom for Mother's Day. I was inspired by a few cherry blossom cakes on Flickr and I was also inspired by some cherry blossom wrapping paper and the Mother's Day card that I bought for my mom. The cake that I was originally going to make for my mom ended up in the garbage can (long story) and I started baking this cake at 11pm Saturday night and somehow managed to finish this cake off by 5:00am Sunday morning. My mom loved it and didn't want to cut into it. TFL

Pink Flower And Butterfly Cupcakes
These are a collection of cupcakes that I made for my sister-in-law's birthday. They are strawberry cupcakes with strawberry buttercream. All the flowers and the butterflies are made with fondant. The butterflies were made using Patchwork Cutters purchased from Global Sugar Art. http://www.globalsugarart.com/product.php?id=18562 . TFL!

Mickey Mouse Cake
I made this cake for my son's 2nd birthday. It was inspired by many Mickey/Minnie Mouse cakes here on Cake Central. Thanks so much for the inspiration. I had some structural issues with the ears. They were too heavy and started to tear the cake down the sides a bit. Other than the problem with the ears I was happy with this cake as it was fun to work with such bright colours. TFL!

Butterfly Mini Cupcakes
These are butterfly mini cupcakes that I made for my daughter's preschool class. They are vanilla mini cupcakes with vanilla buttercream. The butterflies and flowers are made with fondant. I used a mini cookie cutter for the butterfly shape. I am anxiously awaiting my patchwork cutters to arrive from global sugar art. TFL!

Baby Shower Cupcakes
These are cupcakes that I made for a cycling themed baby shower. I incorporated the cycling theme in the cake that I made. These cupcakes are more baby-themed but tied into the cake via the colours. All the accents are made with MMF. The little feet, bibs and onesies were made with a mold. The little booties (which are my favourite) are all hand molded. TFL!

Cycling Baby Shower Cake
This was a real challenge for me. The parents-to-be are avid cyclists so the theme of the baby shower was cycling. It took me FOREVER to make the bicycle as the parts are so delicate that they kept breaking and I had problems 'gluing' the parts together. I also made coordinating cupcakes with this cake. TFL

Elmo Mini Cake
This was an Elmo mini cake that I made for a little girl turning 2. I also made matching Elmo cupcakes for her party guests. The little Elmo is made with candy clay. I wish I had more time to spend on this cake but I had this cake, the Elmo cupcakes plus another cake and cupcakes for a baby shower due on the same day! TFL!

Giant Cupcake Birthday Cake
I made this cake for my daughter's cupcake theme birthday. I was inspired by the beautiful cake made by tamivo. Not sure if I did it justice. We didn't even get a chance to eat the cake at the party as I also made over 100 mini cupcakes which were all eaten up. This is a lemon cake covered in Michele Foster's Fondant. TFL!

Cupcake On A Cupcake!
These are mini cupcakes on top of mini cupcakes. I made these for my daughter's birthday party. It was a cupcake theme. The toppers are made with MMF. I was inspired by the cute cupcake made by saracupcake but I didn't have enough time to order the mini cupcake cutter so I had to hand cut all of these - there were about 100! I also made a cake for her party as well but the cupcakes were so popular we didn't even have a chance to eat the cake. TFL!

Dad's Birthday Cake
This was one out of four cakes that I decorated in one night. It was for my dad's birthday. The musical instrument on top of the cake is a miniature replica of the Chinese instrument that my dad plays. It is called an erhu. I had alot of problems with the tiny strings and in retrospect I should have used actual string. I wanted to spend more time on this cake but I had three others to finish! The entire cake was covered with Michele Foster's Fondant. The erhu and the brown ribbon on the bottom were created with Michele Foster's Fondant. The cherry blossoms are gumpaste.

Chocolate Frangipani Cupcakes
Frangipanis are my new favourite flower! I have been wanting to make them for so long and then I came upon a tutorial on the internet. I didn't have the cutters so I just used the rose cutter (from the big green Wilton cutter set). The frangipanis are made with gumpaste and I then dusted the centre with yellow luster dust. TFL

Snowflake Cookies
These are the first cookies that I've ever made that did not burn! Yayyy! I made these for my daughter's preschool teachers and classmates. They are NFSC with Antonia74 Royal Icing. Thanks to all the wonderful cookie artists on CC for inspiring me. Thanks especially to Antonia74 for your great tutorial and icing recipe. I know that they don't compare to the great cookies seen here on CC but I am still happy with the results. Can't wait to continue to improve my cookie decorating skills. Thanks!

Pink Gerbera Daisy Mini Cupcakes
I made these mini cupcakes to go along with the mini purse cupcakes (that I've also uploaded in the gallery) for my daughter's preschool shopping night. I had to make two dozen mini cupcakes in total. When I saw how long it was taking to make the mini purses I decided to speed up the process by making flowers instead! The flowers are made of gumpaste with a chocolate MMF centre. TFL!

Mini Purse Cupcakes
These are the mini cupcakes that I made for my daughter's preschool shopping night fundraiser. The purses are all made of MMF and most of the details are all MMF with the exception of the silver dragees and one little gumpaste flower. I had so much fun making these little purses but boy were they time consuming! I finally got a chance to use my clay gun for all of the purse handles. Overall I am happy with the way they turned out but I wish that I had made more of the pink and brown purses. TFL!

Fall Flowers
This was my entry for the October newbie contest. The theme for the contest was fall. It is a 6 inch chocolate cake covered in chocolate MMF. The basket itself is made of MMF and the flowers are gumpaste. The basket took forever to make and a clay gun would have come in handy! I normally like pastel colours but I have to say that I really fell in love with these fall colours. Overall I was happy with the way it turned out but given more time I would have changed a few things. TFL!

Hello Kitty Halloween Cake
I made this Hallowe'en cake for my daughter who is 3 years old. She is a big Hello Kitty fan and she doesn't like the scary Hallowe'en images. She absolutely loved the cake! The cake is iced in buttercream. The figures, pumpkins and vines are all made with MMF. The leaves are made with gumpaste. This was my first time making 3D figures. I had so much fun making this cake. It was definitely a challenge trying to capture the likeness of Hello Kitty, her sister Mimmy and Choco Cat! TFL!
