I was looking forward to making this cake - turned out easier than I thought - all edible. I used a bowl for the actual hat.

This theme was matching the decorations. Top two layers are strawberry with strawberry filling, bottom layer is chocolate. Topper is made of ceramic.
Made this for my stepdaughter's birthday - she loves elephants. Body is made from a ball cake pan from Wilton and the head is made from RKT
For my granddaughter's 4th birthday (marble cake) (day after the bday party we went to Disney and saw Buzz & Woody - she was so excited). Moon is RKT which I air brushed (only used it 3 time since Christmas, think I'm finally getting the hang of it). Bottom 2 layers are 6" and 8" pans. All characters are (naturally) store bought. Had been promising my sister-in-law a birthday cake for quite some time and since she LOVES lighthouses (like me), thought what better time to experiment on her cake. This is a red velvet cake with cream cheese frosting. The lighthouse is actually made from RKT and covered with fondant. I tried to spike the icing on the cake and tray to look like waves and then used my air brush to color the icing. The rocks around the lighthouse are jelly beans and I added gummy sharks circling the lighthouse - the protectors - since the lighthouse didn't have a keeper. Had lots of fun making this cake - and she REALLY liked it. Get 99% of my cake ideas from CC - so thank each and every one of you for uploading and sharing your photos.

Made this cake from a CC recipe - Orange creamsicle. Side of cake is peeps and top is M&Ms. Had to hide chocolate candies under the pees to bring them high enough to reach the top of the cake. Thanks to marinewifejones for the idea. Thanks for looking.
Made this for my 4 year old grandson. Bottom layer is strawberry with strawberry filling, top layer is marble. Trees are made out of Kit-Kat bars, monkeys and gators are from a chocolate mold , Candy rocks around the edgeof the waterfall and at the bottom. Water is made from Wilton's Piping Gel. Thank you mariposabell for the idea! This cake was for a 1st birthday. Bottom layer is 12", middle is a 9", top layer is 1/2 of a Wilton ball cake pan. Bottom was red velvet, middle and top was white with strawberry filling. My first attempt at mm fondant - didn't turn out too bad.
A 21st birthday cake --- champaign bottle is from a chocolate mold (with eatible labels), sugar ice cubes (thank you Steve-AngleCityCakes) with eatible "21" label, strawberry cake with strawberry filling, chocolate hazelnut Pirouettes around the sides and chocolate dipped strawberries.
Made this cake for my great neice's 1st birthday. This cake was the cake that took me the longest to make, of course because of the animals. Bottom layer is a chocolate with strawberry filling and top layer was vanilla. Animals and leaves are fondant, with the exception of the duck - it is chocolate - this same duck was on her splash cake - she LOVES ducks! Peanut Butter Cake VII (from CC) with chocolate icing, toped with chocolate fondant. Arms and legs are rice krispy treats covered with fondant. Head is made from a ball cake pan in addition to 2 6" round cake pans. Feet, hands, flowers, necklace, & clothing are from fondant. Chocolate monkeys and bananas on the tray made from candy mold. Thank you Sweettooth 1120! I always learn from my cakes, and I learned a lot from this one.

Made this for my mother-in-law for Mothers Day. Red velvet cake (Sarah's Red Velvet Cake TWEAKED with Decorator's Cream Cheese Frosting (both recipes on CC)) with BC roses (with a chocolate kiss inside). The outside of the cake is lined with Pirouline Rolled Wafers. The ribbon around the cake is non-edible. I get most of my ideas from cakes on Cake Central - thanks CCers!.

Made this for my Grandmother's 92nd birthday and she loved it. She was previously a member of the Red Hat Society and seeing the cake brought back a lot of memories for her. BBC with fondant accents. The bottom is a 1 layer, 9" pan and the top is half of a ball cake pan. I like cakes that you can make the accents ahead of time, so the end game isn't so stressful - this was a fun cake for me.
