Black And Hot Pink
I hated hated hated making this cake. And it didn't help that I didn't like the design I was given. It was the middle of July and we had a week of rain here in Chicago that caused most of my town to go underwater. Luckily we were spared, but the hot and humid conditions were less than ideal for cake decorating. Keeping the kitchen cool enough for my strawberry filled cake was almost impossible. The buttercream was sweating and My horizontal fondant stripes kept sliding, bleeding black food coloring all over. After much frustration with melting frosting and sagging stripes, I'm rather pleased with the final cake considering the conditions I was working with. TFL! :)

Gardening Theme
This cake was inspired by many cakes that I found here on CC. It is one of my most favorite cakes that I've made. It was so much fun! The cake is Chocolate cake with BC frosting. The flower pot is made of cereal treats covered in fondant with Oreo dirt. the flowers and other decorations are made out of gumpaste. the seed packet had real seeds inside, chocolate candy coated sunfower seeds! I made it on one of the hottest most humid days of the summer, so I'm so happy the whole thing turned out!

Precious Moments First Communion
This cake was a challenge just because she wanted the Precious Moments figure on top of the cake, but the party theme colors were NEON! How do I incorporate NEON with the delicate figurine? I decided to meet in the middle. In the end I thought it turned out alright, and she seemed pleased with the cake.

Snickerdoodle "cake"
This cake is not actually a cake, but a giant snickerdoodle! I made it for a friend of mine who doesn't really like cake, but he LOVES snickerdoodles! I took the cookie dough and flattened it out in two 6 inch cake pans and baked. I then layered them with MMF buttercream with a little cinnamon added to it. I thought my creation would be too sweet, but with a tall glass of milk it was a HUGE hit! :D
