This was a project that I worked on for my daughter's kindergarten class. I pre-baked the no fail sugar cookie and brought them in so the kids could all decorate a few for their mothers and place in a pot they had painted earlier that week. The kids had so much fun creating their butterfly cookies and flower cookies. I made nametag cookies for each child so each mom could distinguish who the pot was from. The moms were blown away.
Mini cupcakes decorated with buttercream flowers. Can anyone tell me a secret to stop the cupcake liners from peeling away from the cupcakes???? That was the most frustrating part of this project, but they turned out cute and believe or not the PTA auctioned these off because everyone was afraid to ruin the arrangements....go figure...you spend hours making delicious cupcakes and no one eats them.......

I made this cake for my son's 1st birthday party that was a Monkey theme. The headboard and quilt, pillows, monkeys all made out of fondant. Very fun to make, cupcakes are accented with fondant monkey faces and mash cake is choc bc with a few little fondant accents too!

Cake is covered in fondant and sprayed with airbrush. Sun rays, trees, and leaves are all fondant painted with food color. I then painted on different leaf and grass textures on the layers and finished off with graham cracker crust for the sand. Cookie favors were little scallop shell cookies with white icing and pearlized crystals-no pic -totally forgot!

My client, a four year old boy, hee hee-made repeated requests to his mom for me to make him a cake with Diego in a rescue raft going down a waterfall. This was my take on it, all fondant and bc accents with pretzel rods for trees and the Diego figurines-I'm not that good yet to make my own out of gumpaste....someday!

These are two 11/13 vanilla cakes with strawberry filling covered in bc then with a grass tip in bc, graham cracker crumbs for the sand and piping gel dyed blue for the ocean. Surfboards, palm leaves, shark fin and banner all fondant and trees are long pretzel rods glued with ri.
Cakes are key lime with coconut lime filling and vanilla bc-covered in fondant. This was my first attempt at bows and they came out okay, I still have not mastered the technique but the client was so excited when she picked them up-I guess that's all that matters......

I made these cakes for one of my best friends for her 40th bday. Both are key lime cake with strawberry filling and covered in fondant. Makeup is fondant as well. Thank you helipops and rustidog for the inspiration-I was supposed to make her a completely different style cake and 24 hours before it was due, I decided to go back to the drawing board with these and start all over! I am glad I did, because she was floored-couldn't believe it was cake!
The cake is lemon with strawberries and Grand Marnier filling with a lemon bc as well. I wasn't happy with just the stripes, so I twisted the left over stripes around a pencil and let them dry overnight and made the letter D for the birthday girl. I won't try to stack a 9in on a 10 in again, not enough definition b/w the two cakes. The recipient was blown away with it though!
Client's mother wanted only buttercream on the cake for the most part. I added some fondant accents to give some life to the cake. Cake is basic vanilla with vanilla bc-birthday girl was all smiles!
Cake covered in fondant and flowers made to look like her Pottery Brn nursery set were cut and colored by hand with knife. It was a very girlie cake to create and she seemed happy with the end product.
Client wanted cake covered in BC with flower accents. She was plased with cake, I only wish I had taken a better shot of it out of the box.
