Burgundy Scrolls Wedding Dress Cake
This cake was entirely designed based on the bride's dress...which was a secret from her groom. Copied the scrolls on the bodice of her dress, with silver dragees and edible pearl buttons. I had hoped for red roses as the topper for a more classic look, but got lillies that were larger than my head. Oh well...you just gotta laugh!

Golf Shower Cake
Thanks to Charman for posting your version of this cake. I was inspired by lots of them in the gallery too. Had to buy my first #233 tip...and love it! I was a bit nervous about the prospect of covering a round ball in fondant, so I chickened out an did it in buttercream. I just chilled it for 5 minutes after smoothing, then used my gloved finger to make the indents. Worked pretty well! Fondant banners and letters too.

Princess Crown Cake
Taken from the amazing previous cakes of Sugarshack and Boween! Thanks to you both for the inspiration. I wrote on the gumpaste bow & plaque by hand with food colouring pens. (I love my Americolor pen set!! It has saved me hours of labour so far.) I wanted it to be all pink, but could only find toy crowns for sale with coloured crystals, so I had to improvise a bit. I took the toy crown and painted in those areas with pink nail polish and stuck pink crystals inside.

Simple 2 Tier With Scrollwork
I adore 2 tiers! Especially when the client agrees to pick them up! Yippee!! Half the struggle is delivering in the summer. Nice and simple, yummy fresh berries in each tier. 6" tall tiers. So happy with it that the bride didn't want to decorate it with any flowers. I agree. Nice and clean!

Square Scrollwork With Lilac Details
Not my favourite at all. The bride wanted too much detail on this, in my opinion. It was overwhelming! I had to pick most of the petals off the roses for the corners too, as they were way too big and lush to fit on the tiny 1.5" sides! Oh well....some you love and some you don't. At least it's done!

Simple Scrollwork Cake With "not-My-Favourite" Floral Topper!
A really simple cake, just a bit of detailing....then the florist brought me what I had THOUGHT was going to be a few fresh flowers I would add to the top. I didn't know she had pre-made a weird cluster of flowers with strange ivy bending everywhere and a huge lily in the middle that looks like a cross between a trumpet and the Venus Fly Trap from "Little Shop of Horrors"! Because of the strange topper, this will not make it to my website, so here it is....

Copy Of Martha's Chocolate Charlotte Cake
Okay, so I learned a valuable lesson doing this cake....the tiers MUST be at least 4" different in size to make this work visibly. I did my usual 6"/9"/12" combination, but as you can see....or rather you CAN'T see...the pink tops are concealed. The whole cake just looks chocolate. Grrrrrr!!!! So, next time I'll know that the cake must be something like 6"/10"/14" for this "collar" effect to be visible. Thanks to Cakebaker57 for the advice a few months ago regarding the collar!

Pink Pansies
Wow! Was this wedding ever pink! The linens were the colour of watermelon. Bright and fun! The cupcakes had to be pink too, of course....so we did raspberry buttercream on dark chocolate cupcakes and strawberry buttercream on sweet lemon cupcakes. All topped by royal icing pansies with edible pearl centres.

Margaret Braun-Inspired Designs
This couple wanted a few "Margaret Braun" details, but for a lower price of course! hee hee I took a few of the piping designs from her book and made it into this colourful cake using the couples orange/red/aqua/fuchsia/gold wedding colours! What a bold beautiful wedding it was too!

Ribbon Of Mulit-Coloured Stripes In Fondant
The couple had such beautiful shades of pinks and greens for their wedding that I wanted to showcase that subtlely on their cake. Found a cake design online (I will try to find out the designer to credit them!!) that used this technique on fondant with royal icing, so we copied that look on buttercream instead.

Cupcake Tower With Giant Cupcake As Topper
This bride was SO much fun and let me be free to just do something kitchy and colourful for her. She wanted flowers on mini cupcakes and a big cupcake as the top cake to cut, with their initials in gumpaste. Mini cupcakes are in 4 designs/flavours: Roasted Banana Buttermilk Cake with Sour Cream Buttercream, Sweet Lemon with Cream Cheese Buttercream, Dark Chocolate with Mocha Buttercream & Tahitian Vanilla with Fresh Raspberry Buttercream.
