Sugar Plum Fairy
My daughter designed this cake with the help of Debbie Brown's Enchanted Birthday cakes. The client wanted the sugar plum fairy, but we needed more cake than that - so the 10" round on the bottom was created for the fairy to sit on. The flowers are all hand made out of gumpaste, as is the fairy herself. All is hand painted.

Swim Team Celebration
Have you ever made a cake and when it was finished thought - "I hope there is really dim lighting in the room..." - that is what this one was for me. Not sure why I had so much trouble, but I will say one thing - Never again will I do a Jell-o swimming pool. What a mess! Anyway - all the figurines were made from sculpey dough and baked and cured before placing on the fondant. They were made in the likeness of the lifegaurds/coaches of our swim team. I do like how they turned out, and we gave them to the coaches before we cut the cake.

Soccer Field
I had more trouble with this cake than I want to admit. Mostly frosting woes - for example my grass tip kept clogging - so I gave up. :D Scoreboard is made out of gumpaste and royal icing and then painted. The "time" on the clock is the birth year and the score is his age. I resisted putting a number of fouls LOL.

Jaconde Decor Sides
This is my first attempt at a Jaconde cake. The decor sides are done with a paste, frozen, and then baked into the Jaconde. The cake on the interior is a Carrot Cake with Cheese Cake Mousse layers. There's a lot I learned from doing it, for example - it makes a big mess! But it was fun, and I'll definitely do it again...I think.

Snow And Ice
This is the second wedding cake my sister and I made together. This was for our niece's wedding, and the theme was Winter/Snow/Ice. The cake is entirely covered in chocolate and dusted in pearl dust. All the pearls were hand made out of chocolate and then covered in pearl dust. The music notes and symbols on the second layer are hand piped with royal icing and a number1 round tip. The Cake topper---well, let's just say, the groom collects rubber ducks.

Byu Football
This was a grooms cake that my sister and I made for our niece's wedding. The groom is an AVID BYU fan (as am I) but my sister is a UTAH fan...(Huge rivalry). The interior of the cake is red velvet with white buttercream filling (The Utes colors...ICK!) - after cutting into the cake the groom stated "That's now not edible"...have to say, I agree with him! Cake is covered in Blue chocolate and BYU and stripes are white chocolate. As stated above, cake is Red Velvet with white buttercream filling.

50Th Wedding Anniversary
These cakes - 16", 12" and 8" are completely buttercream. The couple are great friends of ours, and this cake is a gift. Unfortunately, we'll be out of town for the event on Tuesday so I have to deliver today and it'll remain frozen until then. :( When it's set up the party planner will add fresh black magic roses to the tops of the cake. I do hope it survives until then!

Teacher Appreciation
This idea was borrowed from a few other cakes here on CC that i have seen and absolutely adored. It is entirely done in chocolate clay (the black is semisweet chocolate with black food coloring mixed in, then brushed with cornstarch for the effect of a recently erased chalk board), including the apple which is molded from red modeling chocolate. The chalk is gumpaste. Thanks for looking, and once again for the inspiration on this one! I love CC!
