Grease The Musical
This is another cake I made for the Sooner Theatre in Norman, Oklahoma. We celebrated this iconic musical with a two tier cake 10" and 8" rounds. Thank you CC'ers for the juke box idea! Also we do own the rights to the show artwork. This would make a great 50's cake for any occasion! Oh...hint: for a true 50's look turn your black squares on the diamond to make a checkerboard floor. If you leave them square the eye will read it as a "checkered flag" and your 1950's cake will evoke NASCAR.

Into The Woods
I made this cake for the Sooner Theatre in Norman, Oklahoma's cast party for Into the Woods. This Sondheim lyrical masterpiece mashes up several fairytales and they all come together with 4 iconic items: Milky White the Cow, Little Red's cape, Rapunzel's golden hair and Cinderella's slipper. I chose to feature these items and trees in fondant. The rest of the cake is iced in buttercream. To save time we printed the show artwork and mounted it on foam board. (Yes, our theatre owns the rights to the logo, so we are all good!). The cakes are 9" and 6" rounds. The bottom tier is red velvet (Cake Doctor) and WASC with cream cheese fill. The top tier is chocolate choc.-chip (Cake Doctor) with choclate fill. It is a joy to create cakes for this talented group of high school kids. They sing, I bake!

Make-Up Case For Abby
I used Seraphim's cosmetic's case cake as inspiration for my daughter's 7th birthday. We had the party at our mall and they girls all got make-up done and then went on a shopping adventure. We ended the party at Chickfila for cake and they were all surprised to see this cake!! Thanks Seraphim!!!

Julia's Cake
I made this for a dear friend having her first child. It is a 12" round, 8" square and 6" round. It is all buttercream with fondant accents. I used a lattice tool for the square tier and piped chocolate on the impressed lines. I used glitter on the fondant flowers and the pink stripes. The flowers have silver dragees in the centers. The cake was white, strawberry and lemon. Thanks for looking!

Jill's Fabulous 50Th
My friend Jeni and I made this cake for my sister, Jill, who was turning 50. We incorporated many of her favorite things and life experiences like: Mary Engelbreit designs, Longaber baskets, chocolate chip cookies, her dogs (bones), nickname "cheese," her nursing career, her first car; a Honda, Mickey Mouse, her time spent working in Alaska, her faith and all of her nephews and neices whom she has helped raise. She was stunned and speechless when she saw her cake. It was a pleasure to do this for such an awesome big sister!!! Thank you CCr's for your designs...we looked at your cakes for inspiration!

Michael Jackson
One of my daugther's best friend LOVES Michael Jackson and wanted a cake in that theme. It was difficult to replicate his image so we opted for laminated photos of him doing his signature moves and his album covers. It was a simple cake...buttercream with fondant accents. Tana loved her MJ cake!

Surfboard Birthday Boy!
I did this cake for a boy who was having a swim birthday party. His mom had shown me a surfboard cake with several boards but Clayton's name was so long that I had to redesign. I am pretty sure the original idea came from a fellow CC'r so Thank You if this was your cake! My cake is all buttercream with fondant accents. The lettering is from my Cricut where I used paper letters to trace on to fondant. Enjoy!

Classy 50Th Cake
The lady who received this cake wanted something just in white and gold and wanted it 'classy' for her 50th. Her reaction was priceless...she actually saw it and then covered her eyes because she said if she looked at it any longer she would cry her eyes out! This is a 10" square and a 6" square all in buttercream. I used a quilting tool and gold balls that were applied with tweezers. Also my DH cut out the '50' from foam and my neice painted the numbers. The bow is fondant that I dried for two days and then painted the edges with gold luster.

Snow Cone Cupcake Bouquet
We had a snowcone truck come to the house for my daughter's 5th birthday and this called for a "rainbow snowcone cake." This is actually a cupcake bouquet done with rainbow colors. You can't tell from the photo but I dusted all the cupcakes with matching disco dust glitter and it look super sparkly. The straw is one of those giant straws filled with sour powerder candy...it worked perfectly. I used my Cricut to cut out her name and decoration for the pot. Thanks for looking!

Fabulous Frog
My daughter celebrated her 8th birthday at JumpZone and she wanted a Frog cake. I thought lily pads and bright flowers would work for this occassion. Also I covered a box in fondant and had the fondant frog coming out of the box with fondant "tissue paper." Also I did a layer of rainbow cake...I used the WASC recipe and separated the batter in to four bowls and colored the batter different colors and poured it in the pan one at a time...it worked beautifully and the kids were amazed! Thanks CCr's for the idea!

Look Whooo's One
This was for a baby girl celebrating her first birthday. They had an owl theme and wanted the cake to appear sweet and girly. I found a basic idea online and then adapted it to look like the invitation by adding "stitching" to the fondant pieces. This is all buttercream with fondant accents and edible disco dust on the owls and the flowers.

Beveryly Hills Chihuahua Girl
This was for a special little girl who loves her Chihuahua dog. The cake is a 9" and a 6" chocolate, all in buttercream with fondant accents. I actually covered a 4X4" gift box in fondant and then twisted black and white fondant and rolled thin to cut squares for the "tissue paper." The doggie is all fondant. The cake was a hit! Thanks to fellow CCr's who have no doubt given me inspiration for this cake. Thanks for looking!

1St Birthday Ladybug
This was for a precious baby girl's first birthday. I know I combined some ideas from CCr's so thank you so much for your inspiration. I liked that the Ladybug acutally looked like a girl and the leaf she rests on sticks out past the cake. I use my oven, turned OFF with only the oven light on to dry fondant pieces like the leaf. It's very effective. Thanks for looking!

Sister Cakes
These cakes were to very special sisters. Mom said to just use bright colors and do a flower on one and a butterfly on the other. I chose vivid saturated colors and used fondant for the details. Also I finished each cake with some rainbow disco dust for some special sparkle. Thanks for looking!

Beach Ball Birthday
This was for friends celebrating their birthday together. They were having a swim party and wanted something extra special. Thanks to CCr's who helped me with this cake. Covering the styrofoam ball was tricky...the stripes acutally have to be shaped like elipses. The ball was made a week in advance. The rest was straight forward. Thanks for looking!

First Birthday Princess
This was a sweet cake for a first birthday. The mom ordered it and wanted the sisters' names also on it...so the birthday girl got the big crown and sisters got the two smaller ones. This is all buttercream with fondant accents. The number is foam cut (by my hubby) and painted and then I added jewels.
