Birthday Book
This is a white cake covered in fondant. The writing is an edible image and I used luster dust on the edges of the pages. I cut this from two sheet cakes because I don't have the book pan. KHalstead's cake was my inspiration for trying this. I wanted to make a book cake like hers for Christmas but I needed a birthday cake so I decided to try it before Christmas. Thank you KHalstead for all your help and answering my questions. Also thanks to Price for instructing me on how to apply the image to fondant.

Birthday
Made this for my husband's birthday. He has worked for a couple of weeks building a storage building so I thought this would be appropriate. This is buttercream icing with fondant accents but the tools are Wilton candles. This is the first time I made a fondant person and I didn't let it dry long enough so he is really drooped LOL.

60Th Birthday
This was made for a very dear friend who has a great sense of humor. I always give him a hard time because I am a good bit younger (ha ha ha). The writing is intentionally messy so that I could write "old man" and scratch it out (I had to get that in there lol). The cake is white cake with all buttercream except the "60's" are white chocolate. The glasses are real reading glasses from the dollar store. Everybody got a good laugh about me picking on his age.

80Th Birthday Cake
This cake was for my MIL's 80th birthday. The top layer is red velvet with cream cheese filling, the middle is chocolate with chocolate ganache filling and the bottom is vanilla with white chocolate filling. All icing is buttercream but the flowers, bows and nametag are gumpaste. The icing was much smoother than it looks in this picture but this is the only picture that I got the entire cake in.
