Princess Fifth Birthday Cupcake Cake
A cupcake cake for a princess' fifth birthday. Decorations modeled after party supplies (shown in additional photo). Cupcakes are strawberry with raspberry buttercream icing. (I wasn't sure if the flavors would go well together, but they complemented each other very nicely.) Decorations are all buttercream fondant.

Jessie & Bullseye Cupcake Cake
This cupcake cake was made for a Jessie & Bullseye themed pony party. Cupcakes are red velvet with cream cheese/sugar/whipped cream filling and with buttercream icing. Picture and wording created using frozen buttercream transfer technique. (I'm still working on perfecting the technique of blending the transfer edges smoothly into the icing surface.)

Beach-Themed Cupcakes
I made these cupcakes for a beach-themed birthday party. The cupcakes are devil's food with caramel filling. The icing is cream cheese with crumbled sugar cookies to give the appearance of sand. The umbrellas are melted white chocolate candy (dyed yellow). The flower, sandals, and beach ball are fondant. The coordinating cupcakes are the same with molded white chocolate candy shells and starfish (or sea stars as they are now called).

Zebra Cake
I made this zebra cake for a special little girl's third birthday party at the zoo. It's my first fondant-covered cake and my first fondant bow. I had a great time, so I'm sure I'll be using those techniques again in the future. (As I learned, using matching icing to "glue" the bow together is a must.) Cake is white/chocolate "zebra" marble with strawberry filling covered in fondant. Zebra stripes, message banner, and pink decorations are also fondant. Coordinating cupcakes are devil's food with buttercream icing. Thanks to all the zebra/bow cakes on CC for the inspiration!

Horse Cupcakes
Horse cupcakes for a pony-themed birthday party. Cupcakes are strawberry and Devil's food with buttercream icing. Horses are fondant with buttercream eyes, manes, and tails. I used ready-made frosting from a tube for flowers (for convenience), but I don't recommend that...they don't like to stick to the buttercream grass. I put an layer of icing on the cupcake before piping grass because the grass doesn't provide enough icing. Thanks to bjfranco for the idea!

Little Mermaid Sitting On A Rock Cake
To make this cake, I followed the instructions that come with the Wilton Wonder Mold cake pan. Differences: used a Pampered Chef Batter Bowl to bake the cake (makes it taller), used one size larger tip to pipe the tail, made candy seashells using Wilton candy mold. I also baked another 6" layer cake and stacked the dome-shaped cake on top of it. It gave it height that looked proportionate for the size of the doll's body. (This would work well for making a dress cake as well.) Marble cake with fudge icing between layers, buttercream icing outside. (See other picture for complementary cakes for same party.)
