Disney Cars 3Rd Birthday Cake

My dd loves the movie Cars. She laughs hardest when McQueen ends up in the cactus. She turned 3 on Thursday and this is her cake from the party today. Pumpkin Spice cake with Caramel Cream Frosting filling from a recipe by Chen - (THANK YOU!!!) Buttercream icing. Fondant cactus and die cast toy cars. Rice Kripie treat border iced on top. Wanted the just dug up and put on the board look.

40Th Birthday Cake For Hubby

Let the girls decorate the cake. I made plenty of buttercream, but all they wanted to use was Fondant. Since hubby is a big Disney fan, we decided on Stitch to top the cake. Added a cape and the signature bikini top from the movie. Thanks everyone for the suggestions, hubby loved it.

Purple Fantasy Castle

For my daughters 6th birthday. Chocolate Fudge Cake, covered with MMF, buttercream accents & dragees. The MMF was drying out on me too much sugar I figure and the fact that I working right where the a/c vent was blowing me. A few well placed vines hid most of the damage. Buttercream did not turn out as well as I would have liked. Used Bake Rite for buttercream will have to adjust recipe next time. All in all she was pleased with so, I wont be too critical on myself.

Cake For Nanci

Made this one in record time with the help of my 5yr old daughter. She did the bottom and top border. Was trying to teach her how to do a shell, but she just wanted to squirt icing. This was originally going to be a polka dot cake, but dd changed that. She did the squiggly stuff on top too.

Miss Spider Sunny Patch 2 Tier Cake

This is for my DD second bday. Although I am not too thrilled with the little Fondant pieces, they were my first try. She loved it. I had wanted to put a tree on the cake, but just ran out of time. Some things came up and prevented me from doing the tree. All in all I think it turned out okay.

39Th Mickey Mouse Inspired Birthday Cake

Made this one for my dh this past weekend. Went to smooth it with the viva towel method, and as soon as I started pressing I remembered that I used a non crusting butter cream. I think I did a pretty good job of saving it, if I do say so myself.

Pink Poodle Cake

My DD wanted a pink cake for her bday and it had to have 2 tiers. Got it iced and was starting to decorate when my 23 mo old woke from her nap. I don't think it turned out too bad considering I had a squirmy child in my lap who was trying to poke the cake every chance she got.
