I made this piece as the centerpiece for our Thanksgiving table. It was to honor my dad for him doing the Ironman Augusta. The race bib is made from edible rice paper, the goggles, medal and Garmin are all fondant with tylose. The running shoe is the actual style shoe he wore, it is carved from rice cereal then covered with fondant. The Garmin shows the actual distance and his completion time. I was a little bummed I didn't get the bike helmet completed, but just ran out of time.

Roll Tide!!
I made this cake for our good friends. I brought it to Thanksgiving since they are die hard University of Alabama fans. It is red velvet with cream cheese icing. I carved it just about to scale as a real fedora hat. The houndstooth pattern is sugar sheets and the feather and signature A is gumpaste dusted in burgundy disco glitter.

Pac-Man Arcade
This was a surprise birthday cake I did for a good friend of mine's husband's birthday. The support system is wooden and everything is covered with gumpaste. Everything from the screen down is german chocolate cake with filling and chocolate buttercream. Want to give a HUGE thanks to goa11ie for all of the support and tips given!!! The red button next to the joystick, when pressed, plays a Pac-Man sound clip.

Grill Cake
This cake was supposed to be for our beginning of the school year cookout, only it was cancelled. I was to far into it to stop. The grill is Bailey's Irish Creme cake with coffee buttercream. The grate is fondant and painted with silver luster. I sprayed marshmallows with black and silver luster to give it the charcoal effect. The steak is all fondant, airbrushed. The corn on the cob is lemon strawberry creme cake with cream cheese icing covered in Jelly Belly jelly beans. I used several flavors to give it that "grilled" look. My proportions are a little off. I didn't take how much I would loose when I carved the grill into consideration. Live and learn....

Washtub And Bubbles!!
This is a cake for our fabulous groomer! The cake is Baileys Irish Cream with coffee buttercream filling. The blue "water" is vanilla buttercream. The wash tub is fondant using my woodgrain impression mat then airbrushed. Painting the woodgrain effect was a lot easier than I though it would be. The dog and bubbles are all fondant. I dusted the bubbles with pearl luster dust to give that soapy sheen.

1St Birthday!!
This was done for some very good friends' little girl. The tiers are 10 inch square, 8 inch round and 4 1/2 inch square. The top tier was yellow cake and vanilla buttercream. The other tiers were baileys irish cream cake and coffee buttercream. The cake was covered in Fondx fondant. My first time trying that brand and LOVED it!! No more melting marshmallows!! All the accents are fondant. Her smash cake (not pictured, sorry) was a 6 inch round sugar free devil's food with sugar free buttercream and edible sequins in the shape of flowers.

Golden Retriever
This cake was made for our awesome groomer! It was her mother's birthday. It's white cake with almond buttercream icing. The head is rice krispy treats covered in modeling chocolate. It was my first time using modeling chocolate but I will definitely use it again! I was concerned about it not taking the airbrush color, but it worked fine! The legs, and tail are rice kripsy treats as well. The collar is fonfant with gold glitter bones. I sculpted the dog after my own golden retriever. Everyone who has seen the cake asks of it is him. I'm taking that as a compliment since this is my first 3-D cake ever!!!

Tackle Box And Beer Box Birthday
This was a cake that was inspired by cakesbybert. It is a tackle box with the inside tray, complete with edible NormBait fishing lures. The beer box is solid cake. I used a white cake with Ghirardelli chocolate ganache filling and buttercream icing. Everything is covered in fondant and is edible. The sugar bottle was made from a silicon mold created from www.makeyourownmolds.com. The lettering on the beer box was created from rice paper. This cake was very time consuming, because I believe success is in the details. But, it was well worth it!!

Mustang Birthday
I did this for my brother's birthday. He has a collection of Mustangs, so I thought it would fit the part. Thanks to stemps on CakeCentral for the inspiration. The cake consists of two 6 in. devil food chocolate cakes with cream cheese icing wrapped in fondant. I realized after the fact that I put the Mustang on the wrong side of the stripes, the red should be first. Opps! Oh well, live and learn.

Princess Birthday Cake With Tiara
This was a two tiered birthday cake that I did for a friend's daughter. The bottom is a 8 in. round chocolate cake and the top is 6 in. round white cake. Both were covered with chocolate icing. The tiara was made from Wilton's royal icing recipe using meringue powder. The template for the tiear was one from Cake Central.
