Cub Scout Blue & Gold Banquet
Thanks to Boween and Kim McCall for inspiration. This cake had the 4 pack caps as the bottom tier with a 3 tier 14, 10, 6 above. The cakes were covered in fondant and airbrushed to get the navy blue. The gold was airbrushed onto the pieces and then applied. Always fun to do something for a whole pack of children. :)

Lsu Graduation Cap
This was for two people graduating on the same day from the same family! Bottom tier was yellow/chocolate the top was butter pecan with praline/pecan filling. All covered in buttercream and chocolate fondant. Mortar Board is gumpaste, diploma is fondant with eatable image. Had to trim the top tier as it looked "too" tall, but they needed more cake.

Lady Bug 1St Birthday
My first airbrushed cake other than the Swamp Thing class. I thought that with 3 sides of the "paint booth" square covered in plastic that I wouldn't have overspray... Wrong!..!!! I have been wiping up Christmas red food coloring from every surface...lol Time for some re-engineering...Must have 4th side... LOVED not fighting trying to make red fondant though :) I got inspiration from several photos, but did a direct steal from SugarShack on the bow... ;) Thanks Honneyy... :D

Road Of Life Cake
This cake was made for a friend's retirement. It was a learning experience. Each item on the cake reflected a time in his life. Weebles was so kind to send me the instructions on how to cut the incline of the road! Thank you, Sue! :D I could not have done it without you. The Major mistake that I made on this cake was that I made the tiers 2" difference instead of 4" difference and then had to "fit" the tiers on top of each other...sigh... Awww well, live and learn... If you ever do one of these, make sure that the difference is like 14" - 10" - 6" or you will wish you had...chuckle.... :) The funny thing is that no one knew what a Major mistake I made, but it was definitely not the cake that I had in my mind... :(

It's A Swamp Thing!
This is the cake that was created during the Swamp Thing Class with Sharon Zambito and Dena Bryngelson in New Orleans. What fun! And...what knowledge was shared by Two very talented ladies. This is the first time that I have ever touched an airbrush and they were such good instructors! Thank you, Ladies! :D

Butterfly
Last minute cake - carved and covered with fondant. Used a "cake ball" mixture to make the body and lifted it up foamboard to be more even with the wings. I wanted to tilt the wings, but there was just no time. They send me a note telling me that the cake was so good, that there was Nothing left after the party... I thought that was nice. :)

Mardi Gras 2009
This is a birthday cake that fell on Mardi Gras! This is my first topsy turvy, and with every cake I learn. :) Thanks to Janell for her video, it was right on time - Hugs! Not as good, and certainly not as simple as you make it look...but, I'm pleased. I know where all the faults are...lol They loved it. :)
