Family Tree Cake

Cake made for our grandparent's combined Mother's day/ Father's day celebration. Each branch represented a child (6), each apple a grandchild (16), and each flower a great grandchild (21) The grandparent's initials were "carved" in a heart in the tree's trunk. It was a huge hit @ the party.

Texas Hold'em Cake

last minute spur of the moment cake done for the family poker night. I took a cake out of the freezer and had my 6 yr old cutting out poker chips from leftover fondant using the "head" from the fondant people cutters. LOL, we were doing all this about an hour before the get together. My son loved helping me and got lots of compliments on his part of the cake. LOL I didn't like the way the deck of cards turned out, and you could see crumbs in my table icing, but everyone loved it anyhow. Lots of fun to make!

Bible Themed Birthday Cake

Hubby had the idea of doing a bible on a cake for his uncle's upcoming birthday, so that's what we did.(he's a pastor) It was a huge hit at the party and the birthday boy loved it. 1/2 sheet yellow cake with bc icing. Bible is chocolate cake covered in chocolate fondant.

25Th Anniversary Cake

My very first *big* cake. Was made for my inlaws 25th anniversary. Dark chocolate scratch cake on top & yellow cake w/ extender on bottom. Covered in crusting buttercream then used Viva method. Learned lots with this cake, and was very happy once it was done! LOL

Sesame Street The Count Cake

Cake was done for a neighbor who requested the Count for her hubby's birthday. All iced in buttercream on a chocolate butter cake. Colors were much better in person, as he looks a little brown in the photos. His skin was actually a mauvish color... This was my first paid cake. Everyone was very happy with it, I was even paid more than what I quoted :D

Christmas Tree Ccc

First ever cupcake cake. I had been wanting to make one.. I made this very last minute for sons' 1st grade party. (I ran into his teacher in the grocery store the night before the party and was asked to bring "cupcakes"..) I was very happy with how it turned out. The kids in the class loved it and I even got compliments going down the hall with it. ;) I made 24 cupcakes, and the tree only required 22, so I made the last two into presents for under the tree. :D

Happy Thanksgiving

A back view of the cake with pig holding sign in one hand & turkey leg in the other. LOL Notice the sign says TURKEY day. :P I was originally going to go with a sign for the pig saying "Eat more turkey" & for the turkey "eat more pork" but decided to be nice and just give a nice Thanksgiving message. MMF figures BC icing. Pumpkin cake w/ maple nut frosting.

Thanksgiving cake. Turkey & pig in pumpkin patch. I went w/ a turkey & a pig due to turkey/ham being main course.. LOL Turkey holding sign says "Happy" & pig at his back holding sign says "Turkey Day". All decorations made of MMF.

Autumn Themed October Birthday Cake

b/c icing, mmf leaves, french vanilla/yellow 2 layer cake. Was made for my Pa's 74th birthday. Fall theme, hubby picked maple leaves (from our trees)and we traced them and made sure we pressed leaves into the fondant, making veins. Was relatively easy.

Second shot of cake with candles. "Happy Birthday Brandon" was piped around the side of the cake which I had frosted with a "color swirl" effect. (Something I just thought looked cool LOL)

Lightning Mcqueen Cake For 6 Yr Old Son

Chocolate cake, BC icing, top done with star tip. (First attempt at this.) My 6 yr old was more than thrilled with his cake. I was so glad it turned out as well as it did. The cake itself was pretty easy to do once I had the outline of the car. Although the photo shows there were some small "spaces" in the road, noone could see them looking at the cake.. ;) I think my camera is too good for my own good. lol

First Trial With Mmf And Figure Sculpting

My first ever attempt at MMF. Made this cake as a practice cake really, but turns out my b-day is this weekend so what the heck. :P Everything is made of MMF on buttercream frosting & yellow cake.
