This cake was a joint project with my husband for our daughter's 5th birthday. She wanted a "Jurrassic Park cake." She didn't want "cartoon dinosaurs, but like real ones." The inactive volcano is a mountain of peanut butter rice crispy treats (we like these better than marshmallow ones), toy dinosaurs are from toys r us and walmart, the big triceratop's egg is an egg that hatches when placed in water from toys r us (we carved out a section of cake and lined the hole with stick gum, we threw the gum away in case the egg was toxic), the pterradactyle eggs are malted milk eggs like you get at Easter, and the frame for the pterradactyles is a doll stand from a craft store. The cake was the equivilant of 4 9x13 cakes. My daughter loved it, so that was what was important.

This is a patriotic birthday cake I made for my neighbor who has a daugter and neice with birthdays on Independence Day. One half is vanilla and the other half is chocolate. It is 2 9x 13 cakes side by side. The frosting is buttercream.
This was dd first cake from start to finish completely by herself. She used a DH butter pecan mix, and made regular buttercream frosting. She did everything from greasing and flouring the pan to decorating. THis cake was her anniversary gift to my inlaws for their 42nd. Not only did it look pretty good but it tasted good too. This cake was a french vanilla double layer. All frosting was buttercream. This was my baby's 2nd birthday cake.
This double layer chocolate cake is with a buttercream frosting for all decoration except for the black which is chocolate store bought frosting. The standing footballs were candles that were purchased at a local party store.
