Lady Bug Birthday
This is a 10 inch chocolate cake with fudge filling and chocolate gonache under fondant. I made this cake for my niece's first birthday. This was the first time I have used gonache under my fondant. I think I need more practice. =) I think it turned out pretty good. The only thing I'm not happy with is the way the black fondant had "elephant skin" and the way Rylee's name turned out. Needless to say I can't paint!!

Graduation Party Cake
Zebra print graduation cake. This cake started out as a disaster but finished the second version of the cake 30 minutes before it needed to be delivered. The second photo shows the disaster that happened at 11:30 the night before delivery. Note to self: when doing a topsy turvy cake don't use raspberry and barvarian cream as fillers!!

Monkey Birthday
My nephew wanted a monkey and banana cake . Thanks for all the inspiration on here. He looked at hundreds of monkey cakes before he decided on this one! =) I made the banana's out of chocolate and then hand painted them with a little brown to make them look realistic. This was my first time making a figurine. It is harder than it looks. I give props to those of you who make great figurines!!

Ethan's 5Th Birthday
Thankyou to bunnypathbaker for the idea. I had so much to do that weekend that when I ran across her cake it was a lifesaver!! This is a two-tiered cake. Top tier is chocolate with buttercream filling and bottom tier is white cake with raspberry filling. I used the aersol can of blue coloring to do the sky. I will never use that stuff again it was awful and splotchy on the cake. Thankfully this cake was for me and didn't matter. All of the accents are made out of fondant. My son loved this cake.

Sweet 16 Birthday Cake
This was my first attempt at a topsy turvy. Everything was fine untill I tried to deliver the cake. We drove about 30 minutes and as we are turning into the venue the middle tier slides back and starts to break the base tier. I managed to get it inside the building and do a few adjustments. I just hope that after I left it didn't lose all it's integrity and fall over. I'll find out on Monday, the cake was for my bosses daughters birthday! =)

Strawberry Shortcake Birthday Cake
This cake was a disaster from the very beginning. When I applied the top pieces of fondant for some reason it bubbled on me. Then I had to travel three hours. I packed each tier in it's own box, when I arrived and took the cakes out of the boxes the middle tier had completely slid off of the cake board and smashed one whole side. Also the cakes settled and the fondant accents on the sides bent. After major damage control I managed to hide all of the oops and present a half-way decent birthday cake. It's a good thing the birthday girl was only one and didn't care and it was for family!!
