Florida State Seminole cake. This was extremely hard for me. I am not skilled at drawing or any such thing but a friend asked for this cake so I gave it the ole "college try" ( no pun intended). I was actually pleased at how well it turned out!
My 11 yr old son's teacher when he was in 2nd grade loved chocolate so I came up with this cake that was devils food layers with milk chocolate icing and then Hershey's Hugz and Kisses candies as the border. It has become a huge hit with the teachers at his school now!
My vry first attempt at doing anything in fondant. I was sooo nervous but I wanted this cake to be different then other wedding cakes I had done for the same family. The bride loved butterflies, they were special to her so I used pink silk butterflies and some ribbon and just made a simple cake for her.
Mama is proud! My 11 yr old made this with minor help from me. It was his 3D animal cell science project! The nucleaus and all are made from fondant, the cytoplasm is piping gel! He did great, a cake decorator in the making!
This is a Mama being proud. My 11 yr old son made this, with small minor help from me, for a science project. Unfortunately it was not firm enough and the heat and humidity was unreal so it fell apart but he was proud that it looked exactly like the pic in his science book!
Made for a 9 yr old classmate of my son, I used mini sports ball pan to make a 3d ball. Unfortunately I had no pattern to go off of on the ball and freehanded it so it looks like a soccer ball that was kicked one too many times lol. I got the color ideas off a cake I viewed on here and the little girl loved the cake!
As with my Dora cake, I used a cake I had seen on here and added my own flair to it to give my 5th garders teacher's little girl a special birthday cake. I used piping gel for the water, placed baby Goldfish crackers in the pond, vanilla wafer crumbs made the path. I bought the figures off of Ebay.

My first attempt at a castle( I got many ideas from cakes off this site). I used fondant to make windows and doors. Both sugar and cake cones to make the towers and turrets. Marshmallows made the "bricks" on the wall.
On this cake I used a lil golf figure that I found at the local dollar store and then just used a sheet cake. I iced the green, then used graham cracker crumbs to make the sand trap, piping gel tinted blue to wake water and then sugar cone ice cream cones to make trees in the rough! I molded little golf balls from fondant and they were even dimpled !
This cake was for my son's fifth grade teacher who loves the beach. The sand is graham cracker crumbs, ocean is piping gel. The border is from Wilton's beach themed candy molds. The umbrella is made from fondant and a pretzel rod, I shaped the beach pail from fondant as I did the ball( I painted the balle), the towels and the surfboards are both fondant also!
