Pink Poodle In Paris
My third cake. This time I learned how to smooth buttercream (Viva rocks!) and how to keep my fondant and gumpaste from cracking. The problem this time was that my buttecream kind of dried out overnight, and started getting all droopy. I used corn syrup and vinegar in the icing to help prevent cracking, but it still dried and slid. I gotta search the forums for an answer to that issue. But I'm getting there. Practice makes perfect. The only things not edible on this cake are the wires and cake topper

Disney Cars Cake
My first-ever cake attempt. LOL You all are so inspiring I just had to try. Now I have a newfound respect for cake decorators everwhere! The cake is three tiers of durable yellow cake covered with white buttercream and fondant. Mr. The King and the Cars logo topper are royal icing. The tires on the second tier are Hostess donettes. Lessons learned: Black fondant runs into white fondant when you try to "glue" it with water. lol
