Sweet Chocolate 50Th For A Sweet Man
Thanks for all the help from my CCer friends especially Lea81, KoryAK, and Doug. I was going to do something more elaborate but ended up learning a lot doing these simple details. I used the cake mix extender recipe for the first time, the hot fudge icing for the first time and I used granache as a filling for the first time too. I also broke more leaves than I can count! But the birthday man loved it and it tasted great if I do say so myself :)

Shaq Going For A Dip (But He's Too Big For The Pool!)
Thanks for all the tips and inspiration on this one! The bottom layer is 14 inch square butter pecan with vanilla buttercream and banana cream filling and the pool is 14 inch round marble with cotton candy buttercream. The water is piping gel with edible glitter in it and the edge is marshmallows. Shaq is marshmallow fondant (first time I used it) and the letters are royal icing. He's lying on Airheads' candies. I had fun!

Happy Summer
For a Grade 4 class. As you can see, it moved on the cake board, but oh well. It is a double-layer 9 by 13 white cake. The mud is chocolate buttercream with oreos mushed into it and gummy worms smushed between the layers. The grass and flowers are buttercream and the letters are Royal Icing. I only let the letters dry for about 4 hours before pealing them off (because I was in a rush), and, as you can see, they broke. Learned my lesson though, next time I will let them dry longer.
