Star Wars X-Wing Fighter
My 7 year-old nephew wanted a "Luke's X-Wing Rebel Fighter." I couldn't find any other examples of it, so I looked at pictures of the Lego version and a model version, and this is what I came up with. I used a 9x13 cake and a few mini-cupcakes carved up to make it. All buttercream, except the guns, which are fondant covered skewers. The Star Wars logo was FBCT.

Bmx Track & Half Pipe
This cake was for my nephew who loves both BMX and Skateboarding. The BMX track was made using the mini Wondermold pan and a cookie cake pan. It is frosted with MMF with trails made from crushed Nilla wafers. The 1/2 Pipe is a 9x9 cake folded in 1/2 then carved out and frosted with buttercream

Hot Wheels Cake
Used the racecar checkered flag pan for this cake. The car was done using FBCT. I was not at all happy with my buttercream (tried using margarine, UCK!), it just didn't hold up well. But my nephew loved the cake. The cake is frosted in BC mostly, with the flag and words being Wilton fondant.

Pink Elephant Cake
My daughter wanted an "Ellie" cake for her birthday. (The stuffed animal next to the cake). I used the ducky pan and added a MMF trunk and tail. Didn't leave nearly enough time for the trunk to dry (5 days), so by the time she blew out the candles it was drooping. Ears are cardboard with buttercream.

St. Patrick's Day
I made this cake for my daughter's cake auction at school. Unfortunately, the cookies toppled out on the way there and then the auctioneer (my father-in-law) dropped it as he picked it up to auction it. The cake was iced in buttercream, cookies in royal icing. I used a 10" ring mold pan, the cookies were attached to floral wire with white chocolate and stuck into foil wrapped floral foam. Next time I might try using an upside down flower pot over the foam to steady it more.

Tax Time Adding Machine
This was a yellow cake frosted in buttercream. I made a 8.55x11 cake and a loaf pan cake, then carved the loaf to be the slanted screen. The buttons, screen and cord are all marshmallow fondant. I made this cake for a party where there was a cake for each month of the year, this was the April cake (tax time). Got this idea from others on Cake Central. Thanks, it was a hit!
