Alpha Phi Alpha Birthday Cake
14 x 9 oval covered in ivory Satin Ice, old gold and black pyramid border, cut-to-shape second tier covered in chocolate Satin Ice, plain black band border, I cut the sphinx/pharoh guy (client provided artwork, I replicated) from a sheet of Satin Ice dark choc fondant, let dry overnight painted old gold, then cut and extruded from my little clay gun the lines and features, placed on cake, looked very masculine as it was a gentleman's 46th birthday cake.

Floating Seashells
Crooked cake stand, just could NOT get it straight! 6, 9. 12 inch rounds, marbelized fondant to look like water, choc shells, organic sugar sand. I took this stand apart and put it back together like 6 times, still couldn't get it straight! Couple loved it, that's all that counts.

Cornelli Lace
Bride wanted "old-fashioned", with lavender roses. I thought immediately of a contest winning cornelli lace cake I had seen here on CC, a few changes here and there, all BC, my first cornelli lace experience, 12, 9 and 6 inch rounds, gumpaste roses, edible pearls, ribbon trim, bride's topper. Thank you to the designer that inspired this cake.

Cake was made for high school grad whose mom lovingly refers to him as her 'redneck boy', Yes, I hear he wore a Mossy Oak tux to the prom...
