My entry in the 2012 That Takes the Cake cake show. I didn't place, but I was pleased with it! :)
My daughter and I participated in the Austin Color Run for her birthday and she loves penguins. So I thought combining the two for her cake made perfect sense! :) The numbers on the penguins were our race numbers.
The inspiration for this cake came from MyCakeSchool's blog. Thank you! I think it turned out cute!
Picture made with FBCT.
A quick birthday cake with a chocolate wrap.
A cake I made for my neighbor. The picture is cut out of fondant.
The picture doesn't do it justice. It was actually pale pink and white with sparkle.
Groom's cake for my son-in-law. Groom doesn't like cake, so I made a tower of individual pies with one large "cherry pie" that was really cake as the topper. Candy boxes, baseball bat and baseball at the top were rice krispie treats covered in fondant and hand painted.
My daughter's wedding cake. Handmade gumpaste anemones. A lot of work and stress! :)
I replicated the groom's buckle out of gumpaste using a mold I made from silicone. The groom thought it was his actual buckle on the cake at first! :)
Just a quick little 4 inch made for my friend's birthday.
Made for my son's 16th birthday. I used the Wilton car pan on top of a 12 inch round. BC with fondant checkerboard. Car was covered with Satin Ice red fondant. We hid the key to his brand new car in his piece of cake. He was definitely surprised!
12 x 18 inch. All BC with fondant logo.
Wilton soccer pan on top of a 10 inch square. All BC with gumpaste accents.
All BC with fondant accents.
Elmo cupcakes made for a charity event. Used Wilton grass tip for the fur and fondant for the mouth, nose and eyes. The little girl was so excited when she saw them! :)
