Totally Over-The-Top Masquerade Cake
Made for a masquerade prom for the school where I teach. Topsy-turvy style with mixed layer shapes. 12" square/10" round/8" rounded triangle/5" round/3" square. Black and white vanilla Satinice fondant. Gumpaste masks dusted with platinum and aztec gold luster dusts. Burgundy tulle between layers to cover styrofoam supports. Plum ostrich feathers, wired fondant baubles, gold/silver dragees, and mylar sprays. Red Velvet with Almond Buttercream, Vanilla Bean with Nutella Fudge, Cookies & Cream cake and filling, Dark Chocolate with Dulce de Leche filling.

Pirate Treasure Chest
Treasure-chest cake for a pirate-themed birthday party. Toasted Coconut Cake with Pineapple Filling; Dark Chocolate Cake with Dulce de Leche Filling; Vanilla Bean Cake with Apricot Filling. Satinice chocolate fondant over chest and lid, black fondant trim. Crunch bars coated with Aztec Gold luster dust and Moonstone/Diamond Silver luster dust. GSA isomalt gemstones, 4mm/6mm sugar pearls coated with Gold Pearl luster dust. Sugar in the Raw sand. Gumpaste treasure maps with Capuccino and Black petal dusts and Americolor food marker.

Casablanca Cake
The students at the school where I teach chose Casablanca as their prom theme last year, and then talked me into making a cake for dessert! Satinice fondant (pre-tinted) in purple, red, and pink. Turquoise-tinted white fondant. Piped decor in royal icing. Some gumpaste cut-outs dusted in Aztec Gold luster dust.

Bon Voyage Cake
Cake for a friend moving to San Francisco. Fondant golden-gate bridge using Satinice pre-tinted red fondant. Satinice gumpaste (tinted kelly green) for road sign. Satinice black fondant roads with royal icing striping. Wired balls of gumpaste, some dusted with Aztec Gold luster dust. Red Velvet Cake with Almond Buttercream; Vanilla Bean Cake with Raspberry Filling

Daisy Cake
This was actually a Sweet Sixteen birthday cake, not a wedding cake, but it could work as a wedding cake, certainly. Styrofoam wedges support the layers, with gumpaste daisies and leaves to camouflage the supports. Top tier: Vanilla bean cake with chocolate ganache Mid tier: Red velvet cake with almond buttercream Bottom tier: Dark chocolate cake with almond buttercream

Tree Wedding Cake
Offset round tiers (14-12-9-6) with fondant and gumpaste tree. Satinice white fondant tinted turquoise, Satinice Dark/Chocolate fondant tree, Satinice gumpaste leaves and flowers. Top: Red Velvet with almond buttercream; 2nd: Toasted Coconut with pineapple filling; 3rd: Vanilla Bean with mango filling; Bottom: Dark Chocolate with espresso ganache and coffee buttercream. It was 95+ degrees with excruciatingly high humidity; it weathered the weather as well as could be expected (it glistened more than usual) - though with two movements of the cake table, the bottom tier began to slump by the time the couple cut the cake.

Whimsical Wedding Cake
Cupcakes and stacked cake for the wedding of an art teacher. Cupcakes: Wrappers from GSA; sugar pearls in diamond/blue/black dusts; gumpaste medallions, initials written with Americolor markers Tiers: Satinice fondant with fondant cutouts, royal icing dots, wired gumpaste balls, and gumpaste medallion.
