40Th Birthday Flip Flop Cake
I made this cake for one of my friend's 40th birthday this past weekend. Cake was triple chocolate and WASC mixed layers with raspberry butter cream and chocolate ganache fillings. Covered in "zebra" fondant with gumpaste flowers. Took inspiration from several different cakes on the site to help make the flip flop look like one the client actually sells in her business.

Baby Swiss
This is a baby shower cake that I did for a couple from Wisconsin. They don't know what they are having and her mother (who ordered the cake) thought this would be a cute idea. Thanks to OCakes for all the help with the design ideas. It is a 2 12" rounds torted, carved, and then filled with vanilla BC. "Holes" were made in the BC with a melon baller dipped in very hot water. The future mom loved it...

My First Wedding Cake
Well here is my first wedding cake... It was a fun challenge especially since I did if for my borther and now SIL on a destination wedding. I don't think I would do that again with all of the stuff I had to haul to the location... But they loved it and that is what really mattered. WASC with vanilla BC all over.

Superhero Birthday
I did this cake for a boy that was having a superhero birthday party. His mom didn't know wheihc superhero to use for the primary theme, so I decided to just make him the superhero. He loved the cake...! It was Darn Good Chocolate cake (from cake mix doctor) with vanilla BC icing and an edible image of the b-day boy.

Princess Dora Candy Castle
This is the cake I made for my 3 year old's birthday this past weekend. It is based on the Wilton Candy Castle cake that she picked out. Sugar cones for turrets, and chocolate base and vanilla top tier with all BC icing. Way too much cake, but her reaction to it made it worth all the effort...

This one is vanilla cake with BC noodles, chocolate and cream cheese meatballs, strawberry sauce, and white chocolate parmesan cheese.

Pirates Of Penzance Cast Cake
This was a cake I did for the cast of our middle school musical. I took inspiration from several of the different pirate cakes on this site plus some from Debbie Brown's books. The ship is chocolate cake covered with dark chocolate fondant. The sails are gumpaste. The "ocean" is a yellow cake covered with vanilla BC.

Little Einstein's Birthday Cake
Here is the birthday cake I just did for my daughter's 2nd birthday. She is a HUGE Little Einstein's fan so I made Rocket and then added all of the characters on the windshield with colorflow designs. It is 2 oval pans (13.5") stacked with a wonder mold for the cockpit on top. Engines are made with ice cream cones. I took most of the inspiration for this from www.andreasrecipes.com and just added some more of my own details. Yellow cake for base and chocolate for cockpit with all BC icing.

Sugarveil Decorated B-Day Cake
This was my first attempt using Sugarveil icing. It was really easy to work with, but I need some work working on my "fine" piping... It was scary to pull the icing off the parchment, but it came off fairly easily. I just tried a piece and it was a little odd texture-wise -- a little like melted marshmallows.
