Aunt Mary & Uncle Charles' 50Th Anniversary Cake
All buttercream 10" and 6". Real ribbon, candy clay ribbon roses, and purchased Wilton topper. Thanks to IndyDebi for helping me decide how big to make this cake and to Shaonh, CakesbyLisa2004, and Ruth0209 for inspiration. Special thanks to Ruth for her excellent instructions on how to make the topper.

Ninja Turtle/princess Cake
Special order from my son for him and his friend who were both turning 19 (yes 19!) Cake is 11 X 15 1/2 chocolate with BC filling and 1/2 WASC with strawberry filling. BC frosting and candy clay accents. Made two separate mixes and DH and I poured into pan at the same time. The chocolate side was supposed to be for her and the white side for him, but of course I screwed it up--I even marked the cake board. Sigh.

Chris' Pokemon Cake
Getting caked out at this point, thus the toys...but the birthday boy was super thrilled to get them! The bottom cake is a 9 X 13 white with buttercream frosting. The ball is half cake and half RKT covered in candy clay. It took a while to smooth it out and you can't look at the back, but I think it turned out okay. All the accents are candy clay. I did add Tylose to the lightning bolts, but they still didn't make it through the party. Next time I will remember to add them at the last minute.

Savanna's Chocolate Beach
Made this for my daughter's BFF. Bottom layer is 9 X 3" chocolate with BC filling, and the top layer is 6 X 3" lemon with lemon BC filling. Both are frosted with BC. Added disco dust for the sparkle in the water. All accents are candy clay-added tylose for extra strength to certain elements. The palm tree trunk is a pretzel rod wrapped in candy clay, it worked great.

Taylor And Lily's Sweet Sixteen
Bottom square is 2 10" layers of yellow cake with real strawberry filling. Top round is a single layer 3" chocolate with BC filling. All BC icing, candy clay accents. "Pictures" on top and sides of cake are edible images of art work done by the girls. Was really stumped with this cake so I added everything including wire and fur. I hope they like it.

Bailey's Alabama Cake
Made this for a friend's son's 11th birthday. Field is 9 X 13 WASC with Wilton recipe strawberry filling. It was good, but I thought it was too "gel-ly". Next time I will add the gel to the strawberries until the consistency is right. Football is stacked and carved 6" chocolate with BC filling and a crusting chocolate fudge frosting recipe I found on CC. I had a lot of trouble with the football, I think it was because I crumb coated and then froze the cake. The cake never dried out and I had issues applying the icing. All the accents are candy clay, Big Al, the banner and the "11" have Tylose added for extra strength. Bailey smiled a lot and thanked me four times so I think he liked his cake, I just hope it is delicious.

Tristion's Sonic Cake
This is a one layer 12" chocolate and one layer 8" white. Frosted and filled with buttercream. All accents are candy clay. Sonic and the Nintendo DS are also made with Rice Krispy treats. Unfortunately Sonic was suicidal and jumped off the cake on the way to the party. I did my best to fix him but stupid me didn't bring anything with me. Ended up borrowing a pair of scissors and using a juice box straw to reinforce his leg. I jammed the wire with the red ball on it into his head to stabilize him and crossed my fingers. Nobody really cared so I decided not to either.

Tricia's Beach Cake
This is a 6" lemon cake as per the birthday girl's request-size 2, bikini on the beach, with Facebook and a coffee drink. I added her husband and kids buried in the sand, Taylor Hicks, Adam Lambert, a dophin, and a the naked mohawk baby for reasons of my own. I made the chocolate cupcakes for her boys so she could have the flavor she wanted, too. All accents are candy clay except for the chair which is gumpaste and the umbrella pole, which is a lollipop stick. Sand is crushed Nilla wafers.

Randy's (3Rd) Alabama Cake
Had no clue what to do with this one, with two hours left until the party....So this is what he got. Thank goodness the cake was delicious-it was lemon with a cream cheese frosting and lemon curd filling, frosted with buttercream and decorated with candy clay. I learned something very important with this cake....I frosted it completely the night before and refrigerated it because I didn't know how I was going to decorate it. I pulled it out the next day and found it was soooo much easier and neater to add the accents to a cold, hard layer of buttercream....no dents or bumps. I was amazed and plan to decorate all my cakes cold from now on!

Mindy's Ganache With Roses And Daisies
This cake was yummy! It's dark chocolate fudge cake with a filling of one layer of cream cheese and another layer of chocolate pecan fudge frostings. It is frosted in buttercream and covered with a poured ganache. I used a combination of semi-sweet, milk, and Bliss chocolate in the ganache and it was so good!!! I made all the decorations out of candy clay.

Lauren's Pink, Lime Green, And Zebra Cake
That's what she said. I hope she likes it. Bottom layer is 10" chocolate fudge with bc filling. Top layer is 8" lemon with lemon bc and lemon curd filling. All bc frosting. Candy clay accents. Have started adding a little bit of powdered tylose for more sturdy pieces.

My Birthday Cake
It's not really decorated by kids, but kids at heart. My sister and a friend made this for me all by themselves. It's got all my favorite things-Adam Lambert, me as a mermaid, Taylor Hicks in his purple jacket, tiny Cake Wrecks mohawked babies, and dolphins. When I saw it I thought it was the most beautiful and perfect cake ever and I still do.

Wendy's Cake
My dear friend's husband asked me to make a coffin cake for her 50th. He is planning a "crime scene" party because her youth has been "murdered". The cake is a 9 X 13 cut down a little (it was made for another person and I changed my mind and had it frozen), chocolate with white buttercream, covered with ganache. Border is also ganache. Since the cake was leveled already I had to make it rounded to look like a casket. So I made a "lid" out of RKT covered in candy clay, put it on top and frosted the whole thing with BC and then poured the ganache. If I did it again I would bake a new cake and not cut off the dome. Much simpler.... The roses, leaves and casket handles are candy clay with luster dust and the 50 is molded candy melts with luster dust. I hope she likes it, but I hope even more that she can cut through the RKT lid!

Some Girl's Birthday Cake
Made this for my son's girlfriend who became his ex right after her birthday party because she is a tramp. Anyway, the cake is yellow with buttercream frosting and filling, half strawberry filling which she hated and I am glad. The topsy turvy topper is made of Rice Krispie treats and modeling chocolate. It took me hours to make that stupid topper and she just carelessly left it in the restaurant. I hate this cake. : )

Debbie's Flower Cake
This is a two layer 9 inch lemon cake with lemon buttercream and lemon curd filling and buttercream frosting. I pressed Piroutte cookies into the side and tied a real ribbon around. The flowers and lady bugs are candy clay. The tag is paper. This was a very easy and quick cake to make. The hardest part was discovering that one entire can of cookies were broken and trying use them anyway. By the way, I used two cans of the regular size cookies and they cost $5.50 per can!

Daniel's 19Th Birthday Cake
9 X 13 layer with donut cake made in a plain round bundt pan. Poured simple powdered sugar glaze over plain cake then pink colored white chocolate ganache. If I made this again I would use thinned BC frosting instead. Homer is made with RKT covered with candy clay, but it is not actually Homer, I made him kinda look like Daniel and Homer combined. My son wanted me to write just Happy Daniel on the cake, some inside joke. I hope he likes it

Kt's Going Away Cake
This one was for a long time friend of my son's, so close I claim his as my own. He left last week for the Air Force Academy in Colorado. Decided the day before his going away party I wanted to make him a cake. I literally pulled this one out of my....freezer. Cake is chocolate 9 X 13 (cut down a little for another scrapped project, thus the availability) with BC frosting made for the first time using hi-ratio Sweetex. I think I made it too dry, but I loved working with this frosting.

Ansley's Barbie & The Diamond Castle Cake
This is two 12" squares carved a little on the sides and pushed together to make the book. The castle, barbies skirts, and puffy hearts are RKT covered in candy clay. The other stuff is all candy clay except for the banner, lettering & mirror, which is fondant. Photo in mirror is real picture covered in contact paper. Tried to make gilt edge pages by applying luster dust with a brush, it didn't work as well as I hoped. Overall I was happy with this one, but I stayed up all night finishing it!

Chris' Camping And Fishing Cake
All accents except for letters, number, and boy are candy clay. The tent is candy-covered rice krispie treats, a first for me. It turned out a little lumpy but was super easy to work with. Overall I was pleased with this cake except I put the fire too close to the edge of the cake and it messed up the front edge. I tried to cover it up with the number. After I took this picture I moved the number to the other side of the boy and it helped. I also stuck the candles in the rocks around the fire.

Brent's Super Hero Cake
This one is for my nephew who is turning 5. He first asked for Batman, then kept adding more guys....he specifically requested toys and I was happy to oblige. 11 X 15 chocolate with BC filling, white #5 cake made in plastic pan with strawberry BC filling. All BC frosting. Used fondant w/tylose for buildings, spider web, and bat symbol and candy clay for everything else. Figurines were a purchased set although I modified the Hulk a little and stuck him in a candy clay covered stryrofoam block.

Jordan's Stripes And Polka Dots
Made this according to my daughter's design for her 11th birthday. Bottom tier is on 3" tall 12" round chocolate fudge with BC filling, top tier is 3" tall 8" round lemon with lemon curd cream cheese filling. All BC icing with candy clay accents and tons of disco dust! She specifically said "no bows", it was hard but I left them off. I still need practice and some time management skills, but I was okay with this one.
