Snow Globe Cake
My attempt at a snow globe cake (thank you to all cc'ers who have done these before). The base is carved from two 6" cakes - devil's food cake with coconut pecan filling. The top is obviously the sports ball - cranberry gingerbread cake with cream cheese filling. The whole thing is iced and decorated in buttercream, the Merry Christmas plaque, snowmen, and trees are mmf accents. I sprinkled edible glitter and white sanding sugar over the globe and cake board to add sparkle / snowflakes.

Vanderbilt Football Helmet Cake
Helmet cake for my football fanatic husband! Vandy is my alma mater and his favorite college team. The helmt is orange cake with lemon-orange cream cheese filling - carved from half the sports ball pan and two 6" rounds. Covered in MMF. The base is done in buttercream with fondant accents. This was a cake disaster (I dropped the helmet after it was iced and fondant was applied) but I did the best I could to save it. Go 'Dores!!

7Th Anniversary Cake For Beach Lovers
Heart-shaped anniversary cake for a beach-loving couple. Single layer white chocolate macadamia nut cake with vanilla buttercream frosting. The sand is crushed vanilla wafers mixed with brown sugar and gold sanding sugar. The sand really sparkles in the light! Hand shaped mmf sea shells and sand dollar, gumpaste flower accents. Flowers on the top are silk.

4Th_July_Fondant.jpg
My first entirely fondant covered cake. Dark chocolate cake with raspberry and marzipan filling, painted marshmallow fondant. Covering the whole cake with fondant was more difficult than I thought! I am not happy with the way it turned out (many cracks), but a few strategically placed stars helped.
