Huntington Beach Surfboard Cake
I had SOOO much fun with this. Yellow Butter cake with Choco buttercream filling and buttercream frosting. Asked for just a beach/surf theme and just mentioned he grew up in huntington beach ca. Everything is chocolate transfers. It was more fun than anything! Why I first started making cakes. I forget that feeling sometimes.

Penn State Cake...frosting Fiasco
For sister-in-law's wedding which was out of town, I decided to assemble and decorate there. Took everything to in-laws the night before going to the hotel & to my surprise the next moring I found that my father-in-law ate the entire bowl of frosting, The all butter, italian buttercream kind. Thankfully I had enough in the bag to pull off this border since there wasn't a mixer in site to make more. Walnut-carmel cake so I was able to cover with walnuts. At least it tasted good!! Logo is white choco..

The Lord Is My Shepherd
For a baby dedication at our church. Thanks to "Eight" for the great idea. First time using fondant since my wilton class over a year ago so I LOVED "eight's" sheep so much better so I guess I will work on them for next time. The greens didn't blend to well which is what I wanted on the hill. Oh...in this shot the cross on top of the hill got cut out but that is what all the little sheep are looking at. Red velvet cake with fresh strawberry filling and white choco frosting.

Disney Cars
Thanks to mopsy for the inspiration. This was fun. The little boy wanted cars and he wanted his cars to be on it. For a 6 year old he was very specific. he even told me who he wanted racing on the track! White butter cake with white choc frosting and choco sprinkle and black sugar crystal road

Mommy To Be Belly
My first attempt at the "Belly Cake" Too much yellow but still turned out pretty good. I used MMF for the roses and the dress and it was a couple days old so it was a little brittle to work with, therefor there are some cracks in the dress here and there. - White Butter cake w/ w. choco cream & fresh strawberry filling. Frosted with w. Choco frosting, which gets way to soft and doesn't work with borders to well, but EVERYONE loves it with ANY kind of cake. Thanks for all the inspiration from the site!

Box Of Chocolates
This was so much fun! I got this from a book, they had you use Pastilliage for the sides of the box and the lid but I wanted it to be a box of chocolate so I used white chocolate. The border is melted chocolate mixed with some cold water to harden it. So it really is a "box of chocolate." Oh....the cake is a regular sponge cake with bc.

Baby Bath
This was a really fun cake to make. I made the invitations also and they had a baby in a bath tub on them with bubbles all over. My bathtub is a little big and this is after I cut it in half. We learn from our mistakes. BC, White chocolate modeling clay bubbles and the baby and duckie are not edible. Thanks for comments. This is my 5th cake to actually sell.

Bible
This was for my husband's birthday. He is the associate pastor at our church and so I thought this was appropiate. Thanks missjane for the inspiration. It is a lemon ginger cream cheese pound cake with MMF book cover. I wanted the old torn pages look so BC pages and brushed gold luster dust into them. I was going to do a tiered cake and ran out of time. My biggest problem, time management. Everyone thought it was porcelain, one of the kids stuck his finger in it and said "I had to see if it was weal."

Pirates Of The Caribbean Medallion
Well this was a great a idea. They wanted something that represented the Pirates of the Caribbean movie. I chose the medallion. I iced it in buttercream then did a transfer with piping gel. I then painted the black parts with thinned buttercream. Not sure how to do this so I guessed. It looked, well, scary to me. I wouldn't want to eat it. But the girl LOVED it! What do you use to paint frosting?

Castle
Thanks to all with Castle Cakes for my inspiration. This was my first stacked cake. What a job that is. I used buttercream all over. The hardest part was the frosting the paper towel rolls. I used a toothpick to "etch" (yeah right that doesn't work too well) stone all over and it took me two hours. I didn't have the cool tool that some of you talked about in your photos. I was short on time, I need to plan better, and didn't do a very good job on the flowers. But the little girl I made it for loved it.

Course Iii Finale Cake
Well...this was an experience for me. I was running really short on time and well right after I got the top cake smooth I went to transfer it and well dropped it! I was not a happy camper at this point so I pretty much just fixed it best I could and iced the second one really fast and headed out the door to class. We did the lace to cover my mistakes. All in all I am happy with it after my fiasco.

Baby Shower Quilt
I am currently in Wilton III and have only gone to one class so this is my first time working with fondant. I made the baby and the quilt behind her out of it. It was also my first time making cream cheese frosting and I made it a bit to thin and it was really sticky so the rest of the cake was really hard and didn't come out that great. Just proud of the baby!
