Cars Cake
Cars Themed cake. The parents brought be a couple of pictures they found that they wanted. If yours was one of them, THANK YOU! (they also brought me a bag of EVERY car they could find, about 10 or 12 total, I had to let them know there was NO way I was going to fit that many cars on size cake!)

Smash Cake
This "smash cake" was based on a photo that the birthday girl's mom brought to me. I'm not sure where she found the pic. It was frosted in buttercream with fondant flowers. I did the cupcakes to go with it and displayed the whole thing (see other photo) on a cupcake tower that I had made.

Last minute cake for a bridal shower. Bottom tier is an 8 inch/3 layer (chocolate, WASC, chocolate) top tier is 6 in chocolate strawberry swirl. Iced with ivory cream cheese frosting. Piping was also done with the CC icing, which I will not use again for a detailed piping job. It was supposed to look like a damask print, but it came out looking more like henna to me. I wasn't super pleased with the cake, but everyone seemed to really like it. On the plus side, it tasted great! (And it survived over an hour car ride to get there which was a relief.)

A Very Bad Cake Day :(
This was an order for a baby shower. The whole thing was doomed for the get go. The girl who ordered it was completely rude & adamant about having a 12 in and 8 in square tiered cake & 30 individually boxed cupcakes for a baby shower with only 25 guests. I tried to urge her to get a smaller cake but she wouldn't budge. I baked the cakes (carrot cake) the night before they were due and they completely flopped - thin as pancakes! The next morning, out of sheer desperation, I had to buy frozen sheet cakes from Smart & Final. With not much time to defrost, I had to scrape the frosting off so that I could at least use my homemade CC frosting. It wouldnt adhere to the sides smoothly at all. And as the cake defrosted it settled rather uneven. The result was lumpy, droopy and bumpy with lots of visible crumbs. I was in tears knowing that I had to deliver a cake that I was not proud of and I couldnt bear to charge her full price. I ended up losing a lot of money on this one, but most of all it hurt my pride. I had hoped for repeat business from this party, but Id be very surprise if that happens. Oh and I didnt put the little circle on the top of the cake, that was from one of the cupcakes. They must have forgot the topper the told me they bought.
