Graduation For Two
This was made for a high school graduation - two cousins sharing a graduation party. One was going on to major in marine science, the other in business. Blue/white were both of their school colors. 12" and 9" rounds, iced in bc, gumpaste graduation cap and diplomas. For the books I used fondant with tylose powder.

Juliana's Communion
I made this for my dd's First Holy Communion. The girl is gumpaste, the head/bodice done with a mold. 8" round covered in fondant. The stand is made from 2 cake board drums with a styrofoam cylinder glued in between to give height and support. I saw this design on http://www.flickr.com/photos/cakespace/2401223972 and saved it for future use. I was so excited to finally try it!

Isabella's Communion
This was done for a friend's daughter who made her First Holy Communion this weekend. The design is based on one done by sugarshack. 14", 10" and 6" tiers iced in bc with gumpaste roses (my 1st) and cross with craft jewels. Two 3 tier cakes and 360 chocolate covered oreos all for the same day - that's a lot for my small kitchen!

Julia's Communion
This was made for a friend's daughter receiving her First Holy Communion. The design was based on one done by Bonnie151. Funny, I had the same design in mind and went searching for pictures to see how to do the drapes and came across hers which was exactly what I had in mind. :-) 12", 10" and 8" tiers covered in fondant and dusted with sparkle dust for a shimmer which didn't come across in the picture. Gumpaste roses (my first) and cross with craft self stick beads.

Baptism Cake And Cupcakes
I made this for my nephew's Baptism. The cake itself is a design I saw a while ago done by Pink Cake Box - I loved it for a little boy. The blocks are also cake, covered in fondant. I've been looking for an excuse to use the cupcake wrappers and this was the perfect opportunity.

Ballerina
This was made for an 8th birthday party. 8" round, fondant ballet slippers and ballerina cutout using a cookie cutter. I put fondant ribbon roses on the back to cover a mistake - I had trouble with and air bubble. It actually worked really well with the design. almost like the buttons going down the back of a dress. :-)

Red Wine Cakes
These were made for a man's 50th birthday. I think this is the 4th bottle cake I've made and it is definitely my favorite. Practice makes perfect, well at least better. :-) The round is a 12" iced in buttercream with fondant cutout wine glasses and fondant covered board to match the bottle cake. The bottle cake is carved and covered in fondant (the neck is all fondant). Fondant grapes, cheese and "wood" board. Lable is painted on with americolor.

Nj Titans Jersey
This was made for my dd's teacher who has a son that plays youth hockey for the NJ Titans. She requested a cake that looked like her son's jersey. They had a tournament in DC the weekend of his b-day and they brought the cake along. People thought it came from Charm City Cakes. :-) I know my cakes aren't on that level but, what an amazing compliment! Idea on how to do the sleeves came from seeing other jersey's posted on CC.

Nail Polish Bottle
I made this for my dd's kid party - the girls made tiara crafts and had their nails painted. 2 - 8" rounds, gumpaste "handle", royal icing tiara with dragee "jewels", fondant plaque, lettering and pearls. I thought it needed a little something else, so I added the fondant flowers to match the ribbon around the board. I remember seeing several of these on Cake Central and thought it was a cute idea. The girls loved it (the parents too). :-)

Yellow Bridal Shower
I made this for a friend who was throwing a bridal shower. The bridesmaid dresses are buttercup yellow with green shoulder wraps. 10" and 6" round iced in buttercream with satin ribbon and fondant bow. Cookies were the favors - covered in fondant with royal icing monogram (I used a stencil).

Bacardi Gift Box
This was made for a man's 60th Birthday - The color scheme was silver, navy and black. I used edible images for the labels on the Bacardi bottle (his favorite drink). The box lid is gumpaste and was functional - it could be left on top and then lifted off the reveal the Bacardi Bottle.

Let It Snow
This was made for a 16th birthday - they were going to the Poconos to go snow tubing. The design was inspired by a couple of different Marion Frost cakes . For the snowmen and the Let it Snow sign I used patchwork cutters and fondant. The snowflakes are fondant and I used PME plunger cutters for these. The trees are gumpaste using a 3d cutter set by JEM. Had some fun with new "toys" from Christmas. :-) TFL
