In this video tutorial we are making a cake decorated as a tricked or treat bag, decorated as Frankenstein!

 To make this cake I used two 8” square vanilla cakes. Layered then up and tiered the cake in between. I crumb coated it using my vanilla buttercream icing recipe. I covered the cake in both black and green fondant. Using my gumpaste stitching tool I added on stitching lines all over the cake to make it look more like a cloth bag.

 Its time for the details! For “Frank’s” hair, I rolled out some black fondant and cut out little notches and glued it onto my cake. I made him some little button eyes, eye brows, mouth and stitch. Don’t forget the bolts on the side of his neck! I made 3D standing up bag handles and inserted them into the top. Its candy time! I added on a bunch of candy onto the top to make it looks nice and full.

 This video was so much fun to make. I definitely challenged myself with it, and I am thrilled with the end result. Don’t ever be afraid to leave you comfort zone.

 Vanilla Pound Cake Ingredients:
-box white cake mix
-1 cup all-purpose flour
-1 cup granulated sugar
-3/4 tsp salt
-1 1/3 cup water
-1/8 cup vegetable oil
-2 tsp vanilla
-1 cup sour cream
-4 egg whites
Buttercream Icing Ingredients:
-1 cup butter (room temperature)
-1 tbs vanilla
-4 cups of icing sugar
-1/4 cup water
