I have a wedding cake to deliver this Saturday and the bride just contacted me about a fresh flower cake topper. From the beginning she told me I just needed to bring the cake to the reception and the florist will have the cake topper ready to put onto the cake. All of the sudden she wants me to make a fresh flower cake topper because the florist (her SIL) is no longer providing the fresh flower cake topper. I have never made one before and I was looking up how to do it. It seems simple enough that I can make it in an hour or two but my Biggest question is....are fresh flowers safe on a cake? Is it safe for the flowers to touch the fondant? I read in a few blogs that it's not safe but some say it is...any pointers/advice would help.
